Computer update: new computer now won't be delivered until Tuesday, alas. I am doing crazy things with the power cord of this damn mostly dead laptop in the hopes it won't hibernate in the middle of a sentence, but since I don't know how long this will last I'm doing both SV and SPN reactions in one entry and they'll be brief (even though both eps really deserve more analysis)

Despite the fact that the main plot was incredibly awful, there were several things I liked about this ep: Read more... )

Yay! 200 episodes! And episodes like this are why I have kept watching for the past ten years. Read more... )

Just a couple of really brief comments, since I really didn't like it too well and am probably just venting. Read more... )

I had no expectations whatsoever going into this episode, but I COMPLETELY LOVED IT. OMG. Dear people who have abandoned SV, you should really come back for the final season because OMG it was good. Pretty much all squee without analysis beneath the cut. Read more... )

So metafandom linked to an interesting post on fanfic classics , and I can't help but note that as of my posting this, no one has posted any Smallville classics yet. I was going to remedy that, but had a brain spasm: what are the Smallville "classic" stories? I mean, I'm most likely to go with something by [livejournal.com profile] seperis, something by [livejournal.com profile] thamiris or something by [livejournal.com profile] rivkat--I'm sure many many authors would also qualify (I could just go look at some of my old recs), but those are the ones that laid out my personal fanon. But it's hard for me to pick one or 2 stories--and I haven't really been reading in Smallville for that last 3 or 4 years, so maybe there's something new that would qualify. What do you think, SV fans on my flist?

Really brief reactions, not really of the positive variety, if you don't want your squee harshed.

Ok, I lied. I watched it right after I got back from seeing Whip It (which, for the record, is utterly charming and completely happy-making, and has given me a total crush on Ellen Page), and for the most part I thought it was a great episode. Spoilers for Metallo, none for Whip It )
