Pretty mindless reflections on mindless TV. (Though from now on I'll probably be behind on everything, since mostly I'm watching time shifted. I still don't know when I'll get to watch all my shows!
Vampire Diaries )

Sleepy Hollow )

Supernatural )

If there were a kickstarter for this (wonderful fake trailer for a Dean/Castiel romantic comedy), I would contribute SO much money. Dammit, why can't kickstarter fund the projects I really want to see?

That whole episode was pure fanservice (more geek quotes per minute than any episode ever) and I loved every minute of it.

Well, that episode certainly confirmed certain suspicions, didn't it? Read more... )

I suspect people's reactions to this episode are going to be tied to how much they like Bobby. I love him, so I really enjoyed this. Read more... )

I swear, I think this season just keeps getting more and more intriguing. Read more... )

This episode made me even more excited for this season, because the stuff they're setting up looks really intriguing. Read more... )

So I was spoiled for quite a bit of the content of tonight's episode, though I didn't know it was all going to come up tonight. And I womanfully resisted getting into shouting matches debates over certain events in places where spoilers are discussed, because I didn't want to sour myself for the new season. That turns out to be a good thing, because I TOTALLY didn't have the response I was expecting when I watched the episode. In fact, I actually liked several things I expected to hate, and disliked several things I expected to love. So. Reader beware and all that stuff. Read more... )

For once I am writing out my thoughts before reading everyone else's. Spoilery, of course. Read more... )

Actually, first I have a couple brief comments on tonight's Vampire Diaries: Read more... )

Supernatural was...well, I'm just glad I ate before the episode! )

I just edited that flocked post I just made to allow comments. Sorry, I wasn't *trying* to get people to PM me privately; I'm just feeling a little out-of-it (I didn't sleep much last night) and am not sure when I'll be up to replying to comments. But thanks to you all, and [livejournal.com profile] latxcvi, thanks for the adorable puppy and the kind words.

I wasn't going to write a review of last night's SPN since I'm already feeling a little over-emotional, but I really need to stay awake at least until 8 so I don't entirely mess up my sleep cycle, so I may as well. Honestly I think this episode is one of my favorites ever; definitely my favorite this season. Spoilers, obviously )

Only ten minutes in and I'm already watching this with my hands over my face. I'm not sure if my embarassment squick is going to let me finish watching this episode!

I checked all the usual places and couldn't find listings past February 4--does anyone know if Supernatural is going on hiatus at all during February for the Olympics? I have to do some evening meetings for work, and was hoping to know if I could safely give up any Thursdays or not. (Yes, I completely have my priorities in order.)

Legion

I've wanted to see "Legion" since I first saw the trailer back in August, so I wasn't going to let a little thing like a complete lack of any reviews (usually a VERY bad sign) stop me from seeing it Friday, but I did lower my expectations a bit. And overall, it didn't suck. I wouldn't say it was a great film, but the current metacritic score is somewhere in the 30s, whereas I would put in maybe in the high 50s myself. Extremely formulaic, yes, but good performances and entertaining enough, and interesting angelology. I highly expect other SPN fans to appreciate a lot of the plot parallels and the central role of Adrianne Palicki. In fact, I am very much hoping to see a lot of SPN/Legion fusion fic based on the film.

Spoilers ahoy. Seriously, this review spoils every aspect of the plot, so don't click if you don't want to be spoiled )

Though between work craziness, health craziness and family craziness I may well be brain dead. So my total reaction to tonight's SPN is summed up in this poll:

[Poll #1514926]

I might have actual thoughts about the episode sometime this weekend. Maybe.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] isilweth, [livejournal.com profile] beet and [livejournal.com profile] thenyxie for the snowflakes! I love them.

And I'm very very excited because there is actually a 60% chance of snow where I live tonight, and it's only snowed twice before in the ten years I've lived here.

In completely different news, I was contemplating SPN and had a weird thought involving the terra-centric nature of this season's plotline. No actual spoilers beyond general season 5 plot arc/aired episodes ones, but I thought I should cut tag just in case )
