Yeah, "A Trip to the Dentist" definitely felt more satisfying because we actually *got* an answer about the rape. Though I actually think that the revelation about Woody the pedophile might be connected to the bus crash, too: he set it up, or Beaver or Lucky did, somehow connected to covering up and/or getting revenge for the molestation.

I agree that last year's mystery felt more grounded in people's relationships with Veronica, which made it easier for the viewer. Though if the crash turns out to actually have been caused by Aaron Echolls, that would also be pretty cool, I think. (And allow him to DIE DIE DIE, which he clearly needs to).

I was assuming the mayor was a child molestor ever since he fondled Logan a few episodes ago. I'm not sure where the Mannings fit into all this--maybe Lucky was the one who gave Meg chlamydia? (Because presumably she gave it to Duncan, who gave it to Veronica?)

I would feel sorrier for Sheriff Lamb if he wasn't always such a jerk to Keith. (Also, I suspect he's the one who tipped off Aaron's prosecutor about all the dirt on Veronica. I do love that they've humanized him, but he still gets on my nerves a lot).
