Happy birthday to lunarknightz and myownghost! And many thanks to the folks who've sent me birthday greetings--it's so lovely of you all. Thanks especially to myownghost and bop_radar for the virtual cards and prezzies, and to mskatej, who has continued her tradition of writing obscure Smallville pairings for my birthday--in this case indulging my love of Chloe/Lana.

Actually, her story Seule et Amoureuse is not simply Chlana--it's multiple pairings with Lana (Lana/Jason, Lana/Chloe, Lana/Lex, Lana/Clark, Lana/OMC), because the story itself is an exploration of Lana's characterization and her major relationships on the show through her sexuality. It's an absolutely fantastic piece of work--canon compliant, yet one of the most interesting and nuanced characterizations of Lana I've ever read. Even if you don't particularly *like* Lana, you may like this story; the comments are already full of things like "I would never have read a Lanacentric story if you hadn't written it, Kate, but if this were the Lana I saw on the show, I would like her." Not to mention the fact that this is a Kate story, which means it's AMAZINGLY hot.

Thanks for reccing this fic. I haven't read SV in years but Chlana is still my number 1 ship, though for this one the focus is more on Lana, which is also great cause I am an even bigger Lana fan and most of all, a more dark and IMO realistic Lana. Not everyone can pull her off so perfectly :)
