Since there was a certain amount of discussion here about whether I was unusual for only shaving my legs from the knee down, I thought this merited a poll.
This is probably TMI, but I don't shave my legs that often anymore. I never wear dresses, so it's pretty easy to cover up the stubble. When it starts itching, then I'll shave, and that only happens once every 4-6 weeks, so...
I don't shave my legs. My skirts all reach my calves, and I always wear at least knee-highs, and everything is either dark, opaque or both. Also, after over sixteen years of this, my leg hair is fine and fairly light colored, so it's not even noticeable if I happen to not wear stockings that day. (And - and this is a tip of sorts - in very cold weather, I wear leggings over tights. By the end of the day, I have almost no hair on my legs. :))
Since we're all sharing, I Do It Luthor and shave EVERYWHERE, but NOT every day (ow) and once upon a time I only shaved from the knee down... then I didn't shave at all for a long time. So now I have bald spots on my legs. :/
Most of the time I'll do from the knee down. But it does depend on what I'm wearing. Even a knee length skirt will hike up a bit when I sit down, so then I'll shave about 4 inches above the knee. But really, for me at least, there's not much hair to shave above the knee anyway.
I don't always shave my legs because, really, they're not very hairy even if I don't shave. But I have absolutely no reason to shave my thighs, since they're completely devoid of hair, so I voted for knees down.
I don't shave that often anymore. I used to shave once a week when I was in high school, but I've gotten older it's gotten so I don't need to.
In high school, I used to do my entire leg. But as I got older and I noticed that I wasn't really growing hair much above the knee, I got in the habit of doing about half way up my thigh... just to be sure I got it all. And I don't do it much unless there is a man around, because I only where pants.
Depends on how lazy I'm feeling, what I'm wearing, and whether you're liable to be able to tell or not. :P I tend to do the entire leg lest I feel half finished, but that's just me being neurotic. *g*
My thighs have such light hair--but I've never shaved them. I actually have a theory that if I never had started shaving my calves (which I started at 12 not because I needed to but because it seemed grown-up) that I never would have needed to shave my calves either.
Does that stuff work well? I often think of buying Nair or something like that, but then I get nervous at the thought of applying harsh chemicals to my skin.
For a while in college and grad school I didn't shave my legs as a feminist statement, or something like that, and I always used to just wear dark tights if I ever had to go someplace nice in a skirt.
I am noticing I wore a skirt to work today even though I haven't shaved my legs in over a week. I do find that the less I shave, the less I need to shave.
I've always been hairy all over, so I was almost literally counting the days until my mom said that I could shave my legs, which I shaved only above the knee due to peer pressure for a long time, until I realized that you could still see the hair above my knees! :is horrified:

But if I'm going swimming or something, I'll shave from the knee down. It's not really hairy above the knee o_0

Yeah. And I stretch out the time between shaving as long as I possibly can.
