I've been lurking (or semi-lurking) in fandom for about a decade now, but I'm finally being led out into the open by the number of Smallville authors I love who are making their journals friends-only. Smallville is my main fandom these days, those I also read a lot of Buffy/Angel and Harry Potter, and occasionally some of my older loves like Due South, Highlander, Star Trek, and X-files.

If you're wondering why I friended you, it's probably because I like reading your fiction or your livejournal entries related to one of these fandoms, or you're on the friends list of someone in one of them and I found the stuff you write interesting to read. I won't be offended if you don't friend me back; I don't know how much I'm actually going to be posting here yet.

Hey, thanks for writing! I didn't even notice anyone had commented until I checked my email (and the address livejournal has is one I don't use often). I probably won't be able to restrain myself after the new episode of Smallville tonight, and I think I've finally figured out how to make an icon, so I may just go crazy with entries. I appreciate knowing that someone out there is reading.
