TV

So for the first time in over a week I was home by 8 p.m., so I had time to watch last week's Glee before this week's.

I generally enjoy Glee as I watch it, but I think the only character I LIKE like on this show is Kurt; I mean, I totally love Jane Lynch but it's not like I actually like her character, I'm just amused by her. And I continue to love the musical numbers, but other than that I don't feel particularly attached to this show. Though next week's episode looks awesome, I have to admit. I think I may drop it when V premieres, though, just because I'm not usually home most weeknights and I only have time to watch so many shows on the weekends.

Eastwick

I'm really not sure why more people aren't into this show. Granted, I don't really like the Kat storyline (will she or won't she stay with her jerk of a husband--YAWN) but Roxy is entirely made of awesome--I love her relationship with her daughter, her affair with Kyle XY, her banter with Paul Gross, and her reactions to her growing psychic powers. I especially like how she takes care of her friends. And even though Joanna is a little bit of a stereotype, I still love her to pieces: her crush on Will but her refusal to coerce him into a relationship with her new powers; her friendship with Sara Rue's character (Penny); her investigation of Darryl; and her absolute excitement at getting a front page story. I think they're just doing a great job making these likeable, interesting characters.

And holy CRAP is it femslashy. I mean, there was a scene why Kat and Joanna were borrowing Roxie's clothes (basically using a lame pretext to do so, but who cares--more female bonding), and Joanna, in her "catwoman" dress, sees Kat in a hot red dress and says "If we were in college, a little Indigo Girls on my ipod, you wouldn't stand a chance"!!!! I mean, just imagine the wave of excitement that would go through slash fandom if men got any dialogue that explicit.

Furthermore, later in the episode Joanna has to flee her apartment in a towel, and when she and Kat (who had a big fight with her jerky husband) get rescued by Roxie, Roxie says something like "if you're here for a menage, I'm not in the mood right now." !!!

Really? I like Roxie and Joanna *more* than Paul Gross in this, though Paul Gross remains a lot of fun. (There's something wacky going on with his eyebrows, though.
