I'm not going to get into the very fraught conversation about whether Clark was or was not partly responsible for what Lex becomes, in part because for me this is not a question merely rooted in canon, but in thousands of Clex stories I've read in the past 9 years, so it's really a different conversation for me than for people who are relying only on SV canon. But I'm pretty sure the Lex-Ollie parallels are being deliberately drawn by the SV writers; this is not the first time this has been done on the show, and I'm not the only one seeing this.
