I SO want to see Kalinda/Blake. I mean, I loved the tease/smackdown she gave him, LOVED IT, but I'd be very happy to see that play out with a different conclusion as well.
Gary Cole was really great, and what a perfect character for them to pair with Diane for all the reasons you said.
I thought the Eli fascination with America Ferrara's character was borderline creepy. You're right, there was a genuine interest and recognition on his part of her awesomeness and potential, but when it took on the romance vibes, it made it a bit icky to me. I thought that he'd do the right thing. Silly me. I wonder if she's supposed to have a recurring role? Maybe he still will?
They could call this show "The Good Mother," for all the patience that Alicia showed with her daughter, but at the same time keeping it real with her wine/crack comments. I loved it.
