Veronica Mars

During the livejournal downtime, I broke down and started a greatestjournal account (I'm norwich36 over there too, easy to remember)--so go and friend me if you have a gj account, and let me know you're there and I'll friend you back, in case of any more traumatic lj downtime!

Meanwhile, I thought that once again (for the 4th time in 4 weeks!!) VMars was going to be pre-empted by sports where I lived, since I turned the TV on at 5 minutes to 9 and there was a basketball game on. But miraculously they just started the episode after the game was over (yay!), so I actually get to comment on an episode in a timely manner.

DAMN. I kind of suspected that Aaron Echolls would get off--especially after seeing his evil incarnate attorney in action--but that Veronica gave up the Kane scholarship in anticipation of seeing the look on his face makes me very, very sad. Oh, Veronica. I love that you kept your composure even when sleazy lawyer dude spread your confidential medical information all over the public courtroom like that, while your level-headed dad tried to break his fingers.

Can I just say for the record that I love Keith Mars beyond all powers of expression? He is hands down the best TV dad ever. I actually love that he threatened to break that man's fingers, since really I don't think his testimony was ever going to nail Aaron to the wall.

Somebody better be killing Aaron next week, is all I'm saying. Hopefully not Logan, because I'd like for him to have a future, but somebody--maybe one of the Fitzpatricks?

(Oh, I'm completely unspoiled beyond the trailer. The man just needs killing.)

So much heartbreak for everyone else, too. Just when I finally was liking Jackie, it looks like she's off the show. Poor Wallace! And even though he was kind of psycho, I felt pretty bad for formersoldierjanitorguy, whose name I forget, since Woody pretty obviously screwed him up. And WEEVIL! Damn, it breaks my heart that he's not going to be able to walk across the stage for his grandma, after all his hard work on algebra! I know in his case it's karma coming back around, but still.

This wasn't quite as satisfying as "A Trip to the Dentist" (which was last year's penultimate episode), but it was still pretty amazing. If DEPRESSING!!!!! Sometimes I wish this show wasn't quite SO noir.

Still, there were a few things that lightened it up for me. Wallace not really being shot, for example. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! RT, You may NOT kill off Wallace. Wallace, Keith, Veronica and Mac are all under my magical spell of protection and may not be harmed. All harm must bounce to the other characters. Hopefully straight to Aaron Echolls, that evil bastard.

I also really, really loved Wallace's scene where he told Veronica it was worth getting tied to a pole to have met her. *Sniffle* Wallace and Veronica, friends forever! I love them so much.

And Mac and Beaver tutoring Weevil in algebra were just too, too cute, though I fear bad things are going to happen with Beaver next week. So Veronica will simply have to console Mac. Hopefully leading to hot girlsex.
Because dammit, they both need a relationship with someone who is not so damaged. (Ok, Veronica is a little damaged, but Mac would be good for her. And vice-versa).

What I want to know is why Lamb has all that animosity towards Mars. What the heck happened there?

As for the child molester thing, that touch with Logan plus the camera’s fixation on the wall towards the little-league teams, molestation is one of those things that crossed my mind but made me go, “naw, couldn’t be, they wouldn’t go that dark with the show.” Aren’t I naïve.

As for chlamydia, my guess would have been Kendall -> Duncan -> Veronica. Either way, as long as the message is, “Don’t have sex with Duncan,” I’ll be cool with it.

Oh, I was seriously hoping that Duncan didn't have sex with Kendall. I don't like Duncan, but that's seriously sleazy.

I assume Lamb's animosity to Keith is mostly insecurity? And Keith did run against him in the election. But still, it is my least favorite part of Lamb's character.
