Wow, I'm starting to think that Rob Thomas is going to rip my heart out in ways that Joss Whedon never even came close to.
Spoilers for Veronica Mars behind the cut.
I didn't expect any romantic relationship on this show to have a happy ending, but damn, the Wallace-Veronica friendship is my happy place! I don't want that destroyed! Ok, hopefully this will just end up being a wakeup call for Veronica to start treating Wallace better, but if anything happens to him....I may never recover. I'd rather they kill off Logan than have anything happen to Wallace.
Still, from a dramatic perspective, when I get over the "my still-beating heart ripped from my chest" place, I love how *every single episode* just ramps up the tension and makes the stakes higher for all the characters. This show rocks so much.
Jackie, who I had mixed feelings about at first, is turning out to be deliciously fucked up and therefore kind of interesting as a character. I knew she was setting Veronica up the whole time, but she played her so well it was almost fun to watch. (And that scene where they were confessing secrets to each other was convincing enough that I almost wish they would turn out to be friends. Maybe they'll bond in a search for Wallace? Veronica definitely needs some female friends).
Can I just say how much I love Keith taking the high road, even though it's probably going to end up hurting him in the long run? And it made an interesting contrast with Veronica's actions this week. (Though I suppose Keith wasn't much better when it came to his personal life).
Finally, I loved the Duncan-Logan scenes. Hell, Duncan almost seemed like he had a personality in this episode! I loved the line about saving his own urine, and the video game with Logan was very fun. I'm not sure how I feel about Logan/Jackie, though. (I actually object to it more on account of Wallace than on account of Veronica, though. I willing to wait a long time for Logan/Veronica--they're almost more fun to watch when they're fighting than when they're dating).
