smutrecs fest day 20

Today's Clex rec is Lexalot's Bullet with Butterfly wings.

This is a sweet, schmoopy, hot post-Rift story in which Lex loses his memory, and Clark takes care of him. They figure out their feelings for each other, but what will happen when Lex gets his memory back?

The mystery Smallville rec of the day is Jintian's Tumbleweeds. (Chloe/Lois)

This is Chloe/Lois, but *not* canonical Lois of season 4-5. This story was written early in the series, before it had even been established that Lois was Chloe's cousin. Chloe, interning at the Planet, meets Lois Lane, snarky and cynical fellow intern. I *love* this Lois, even if she might be using Chloe to get to Lex Luthor.

Today's other fandom rec is Brimstone, a show I *still* have never seen (but would very much like to). Brimstone features the story of a cop, Ezekiel Stone, who has been sentenced to hell for killing the man who raped his wife. The devil gives him a chance to escape his sentence, however, if he successfully tracks down 100+ demons who have escaped from hell. The devil, it should be mentioned, is played by John Glover.

There are a lot of great Brimstone stories out there, but as far as I'm concerned [livejournal.com profile] sidewinder is definitely the best writer in the fandom. My favorite of her stories are Earthbound (Zeke/Lucifer), in which the devil intervenes directly in mortal affairs to save Ezekiel's life--something that is a big no-no in that universe--and finds himself sentenced to mortality as a consequence. This story is more plotty than smutty, but it's very good and must be read so you can understand it's sequel Aftershocks, which is smutty. Though honestly, since superhuman beings giving up their powers for the sake of love is one of my biggest kinks (whether we're talking about Q, Ares, Superman or the devil), I think "Earthbound" by itself is pretty hot, too.

two SV stories i had never seen before! thank you for that. (i think the world is divided into two kinds of people: those who think lois lane is hot and those who don't. ha.)

Well, like I said, this is not Erica Durance's Lois. (Pre-ED Loises I have loved: [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn always wrote fantastic Loises, as does [livejournal.com profile] seperis--when I have more time I'll track down the specific stories.) I think [livejournal.com profile] khohen1 has written some good ED Lois stories.

oh, i'm sorry if i gave the impression that i was bothered by this! it just struck me that some people enjoy her all brittle and rapid-fire and funny, and others find her annoying in general. i have no investment in ED at all, having only seen her in one episode. she's very pretty, and that's my main impression of her. i'm old enough to remember the christopher reeve/margot kidder version of the characters!

it's very generous of you to offer to track down links for me, but please don't trouble yourself to. i can do some clicking around to see what i can find. :)

btw, the harry/lucius story you linked to the other day went off like a bomb in my libido. holy cats. you know how it is when a story sticks with you, and images keep coming back? wowzer.

Yes, ED is *definitely* a polarizing figure in fandom, I agree. I didn't like her at first but this season I am enjoying her.

And that Harry/Lucius story--yeah. Damn. Like I said in the rec, I don't normally even *like* Lucius, but that story is so hot!
