I agree with you that they're definitely making Clark more Superman-like and Lex more Lex Luthor-like.

Unlike you, though, I don't mind more emphasis on the ensemble cast. In some ways I feel your pain--I hated when Lex got barely any screentime in a lot of the S4 episodes--but since I enjoy the whole ensemble, for me it doesn't feel like Clark's getting sidelined. I'd rather him have less screentime, with more quality (like them showing him actually making decisions and progressing to Supermanhood) than more screentime that's very blah or just showing him chasing the mutant of the week.
