This particular poll of randomosity was inspired (a) by toadstoolsmiles magnificent confidence in her own self-love (if you don't know what I'm talking about, go here and here) and (b) looking up a couple people's profiles today and noticing they had themselves friended.

I'd really never understood why people friended themselves, so reading the responses to this has been enlightening. Though I still don't think it's that difficult to click on my Recent Entries page to see my own posts. I tend to figure, if I'm looking at my friends page, it's because I want to see what other people have posted recently. I already know what *I've* posted.

The wording of your second question confused me completely. But if the question is, if I were somebody else, would I friend this Slinkling who isn't me? Sure. I make myself laugh. And I like my own writing, at least most of the time.

I honestly could NOT figure out how to word that question in a non-confusing way, though I knew the X and Y stuff wasn't helping, really. I also had no idea all the reasons people might friend themselves. LJ is just one big learning experience!

IMHO, everyone should friend you because you are teh awesome.

Maybe if there was another Nora who wasn't you (extrapolating from the question -- the other you who'd friend you for the brilliant SV meta), she'd live somewhere nearer me and she and I could hang out together. That would be excellent. *nods*

Oh, ok, I will go and revote on Kate's poll and choose "clone myself" and then the clone can move to the East coast. Hmm. I think I need another clone for England and one for Australia too, though.
