pimping and the 4400
First of all, has everyone looked at the prompt list for
bop_radar's character study challenge? Wow, there's some good stuff on that list. Now everyone should write on them, especially the Smallville ones, because I really want to read them!
Second, my thoughts on the
Holy crap! Wow, they are not shy about completely changing things up every season, are they? So next season is going to be Promise City v. the World? That should be really interesting, especially since the Fifth Column from the future seems to be no more. (Maybe. More on that below). And GOD, I was completely creeped out that Maya is now in the Jordan Collier camp. And I'm feeling really bad for Diana, too, because it looks like she's going to be the only person in Seattle without an ability.
But not as bad as I'm feeling for Shawn. Poor Shawn! God, losing his mom and his brother at the same time, and basically having to kill his brother, while his two ex-boyfriends are still on the other side? I think he just pulled ahead of Lex and Dean Winchester in my list of biggest woobies, there. I knew his brother getting a power couldn't be good, but I have to admit making it be spreading promycin like a virus was really effective for the plot. I was actually surprised they killed him off; I was expecting a Jordan Collier- ex- machina removal of his abilities.
I don't know how I feel about Isabelle's death. I mean, I like the fact that she refused to be manipulated at the end, and that she loved Kyle enough not to kill him, and this is, at least, a better end for her than that awful episode where she was de-aged back to childhood, but as somebody who basically liked Isabelle, I was pretty pissed that they killed her off. Frankly, I would have much rather had a plotline where she got to supplant Jordan Collier and they killed him off, or something, since she was a lot more powerful than he was. But I guess that was last season, and they couldn't figure out what to do with someone so powerful.
So, are we to assume the Marked were all taken care of offscreen, or is that going to still be a plotline next season, I wonder? I can't help but think the fact that they didn't show us Collier being demarked was significant.

Shawn, Dean and Lex could form their own superband of awesome woobies. I'm just waiting for that fic to be written. LOL.
Though, Diana doesn't have an ability, I have a feeling that she won't totally be alone in Promise City. Just call it a feeling, I think Shawn and Diana are really going to work together.
It was a super finale though.
