JK Rowling: secret slasher?

I don't count Rowling's interviews as spoilery; I'm only cut-tagging because she mentions a new character in book 7 as a romantic interest of Dumbledore's, even though it's not specifically mentioned in the book:



"Answering a question posed to her at tonight's book reading at Carnegie Hall in New York, Harry Potter author JK Rowling said she "always thought Dumbledore was gay" and that he originally fell in love with the wizard Grindelwald.

Rowling also said she had read through Steve Kloves' script for the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and corrected a passage in which Dumbledore was reminiscing about past loves by crossing it out and scrawling "Dumbledore is gay" over it.

i haven't read the books but have seen discussion of the DD/Grindelwald connection. surely there will be slash! (cool that she announced it publicly like that. but i'm bummed that she paired remus with tonks. heh. i love snupin.)

I guess I'm being picky about reading this when I'm still half-way through the final book and would really not like to hear this right now. Perhaps your cut could avoid giving up the spoiler itself?

It's cool that she admitted Dumbledore is gay (since I'm still pissed about the whole Ginny is Harry's Tru Luv debacle, this helps) but is anyone really surprised? I think most of us were on the "Grindewald is so Dumbledore's secret boyfriend" bandwagon.
