Some thoughts on Smallville s4

This is the relevant bit:
TV Guide: Were you happy with the way the role [of Jason Teague] worked out?
Ackles: It got a little tough in the middle of the season. And then it took some odd turns when I got the call from Supernatural. I had a whole other year left on Smallville, so that drastically changed my storyline. I ended up turning evil a little ahead of the plan!
So Jason Teague was supposed to be a 2-year role, probably only gradually turning evil. Hmm. I wonder how that would have affected the Clana romance in season 5? Anyway, knowing the producers actually had a longer-term plan that had to get cut short actually reconciles me to that plot arc a little more, because it really did seem like Jason went evil overnight, and wasn't given a hell of a lot of motivation for it.
On the other hand, if Teague-going-evil was supposed to last into season 5, does that mean the Lana-the-witch arc (probably the most universally hated plot arc in Smallville history) was supposed to last into season 5, too? If so, we all owe Eric Kripke many thanks.

We do anyway! *g*

That Kripke comment was aimed more at certain folks on my f-list who do not necessarily appreciate the greatness of SPN.
