YAY!!! The DVD came today! Thank you so much! I've already watched the first two episodes and love them. It's been a while since I read the first book, but the casting is absolutely perfect. (Though I confess it's hard for me to believe Sookie's grandmother lets her go out in public in those outfits.) And wow, I remember Jason being extremely trouble-prone, but he's much less of an excuse for soft-core porn in the books.

My only problem right now is that it's killing me that every episode ends on a cliff-hanger. I've already stayed up way past my bedtime and am having a hard time resisting the urge to just stay up and watch the next three episodes.

I am completely addicted to this show and Cleolinda's recaps are absolutely awesome. You should check them out at her journal. Currently my favourite character is Tara closely followed by Lafayette. In fact it could be a tie between these two.

I don't know that I have a favorite character, yet. I am eagerly awaiting the intro of a certain vamp I know from the books, though.

Mom told me to read the first book before I watch the series. Do you agree? Is there really soft-core porn in the books? Hee!

Actually, no--that's what surprises me about the show. The show seems much pornier than the books, to me.

I don't know if you should read the books or not. You will be thoroughly spoiled if you do, so you might prefer to wait until later. But I loved the books, so I'm torn.

HAHAHAAH. The porn factor is SO HIGH in True Blood. The actor who plays Jason is, I think, extremely talented, but wow, also very naked. I was staggered to find out he used to be on Home and Away here in Aus.

Cliffhanger endings are so evil!! I'm so glad you got the DVD though. YAY! I will burn you more soon.

Oh, God, yes, Jason appears to spend all his time naked. And it's not that he's unattractive, but I don't necessarily want to see that much of him all the time! (Dammit, why can't we get that much nakedness from TW, though? Or JH really any of the other pretty boys on the CW)?

Thank you so much for sending these! I am watching the last two eps this afternoon, and I'm really looking forward to them.

I know! So much misapplied nudity! Jason icks me out as a person too much to want to see that much of him. But Can you imagine JH or TW?!! Wow. They should move SV to HBO. :D
