The state of me
This is just a heads up that I'm not going to be around much for a while. There are lots of rumblings in my workplace about potential layoffs, and to try to solidify my future employment prospects I have taken on a major work project that's going to be eating a lot of my free time. I'm actually trying to limit my online time to about 45 minutes a day, and while it's been a painful three-day experiment so far, it is quite remarkable how much I've gotten done in the time I'm usually online, so I'm going to try to remain disciplined about it. (We'll see if that lasts more than a week, but I'm going to try).
So I'm afraid that's going to mean I'm going to be posting a lot less and commenting a lot less. I imagine I'll still post brief SV and SPN reviews--some addictions are just impossible to break--but I'll be slower in responding to comments, and I'm guessing that it's unlikely I'll be collecting any reviews for

We'll see how long my will-power and good judgment outlast my complete internet addiction. I now have great respect for you for giving up smoking, if it was this hard.

And yeah, I totally hear you about the ways productivity can suddenly skyrocket when one limits the time online. Back in the days when I actually got work done (ah, nostalgia), I'd sometimes force myself to be disciplined in that way, only allowing myself to go online after 6pm, for example. And it was amazing how much I accomplished. Of course, I rarely managed to keep up that level of discipline for longer than a week or two, but so long as I did stick with it, the work tended to zoom along. So I'll be cheerleading for you, even if you don't hear from me often...
