This episode was a lot of fun.

Clark was great; really trying to help Danny and look at events from his perspective. At least in the beginning, the cops' attitude is understandable. When you see murderers get off on a technicality, the impulse to choose moral justice over legal justice is very strong, and Clark made that argument very effectively to Oliver, I thought.

Lana and Tess: first of all, yay Lana, for kicking ass and taking names! And the actress playing Tess nailed this episode: cockiness, grief, then anger.

I didn't so much have a problem with Clark and Lana kissing; first off, flirty Lana is the best Lana. She was totally adorable in the final scene. And in any case, Clark's not even dating Lois, and isn't quite sure what he feels for her yet, so it's fine. (Though, on a side-note, I think that Chloe so casually and openly mentioning Lois's feelings for Clark is not on; she knows Lois's aversion to admitting her emotions.)
