At least in the beginning, the cops' attitude is understandable. When you see murderers get off on a technicality, the impulse to choose moral justice over legal justice is very strong, and Clark made that argument very effectively to Oliver, I thought.
Definitely. I think they made it easy to see how even a good cop like Danny could start edging toward the dark side, given theit experiences.
I agree with you about Lana's adorableness in the last scene. (I loved the exchange "I couldn't sleep"--"So you came to a coffee shop?") But I am willing to give Chloe a pass on exposing Lois, because she didn't outright say that Lois had feelings for Clark, and for all we know (in an unseen scene) she has told Chloe all about her forced confession to Clark when she was kidnapped earlier this season. And it seemed to me very in character for Chloe, who has been burned by Clark's fixation on Lana before, to be looking out for Lois when it looks like Clark is falling into old habits.
