bigbang day 4

The stories just keep on coming!

Apocalypse Cancelled by [livejournal.com profile] jeyhawk. (Jared/Jensen) When it looks like the world is going to end, Jared, an up-and-coming architect, has an unexpected encounter with movie star Jensen, but when the apocalypse is averted, they go their separate ways. Jensen seems to want to just forget their encounter ever happened, but Jared is hopelessly fixated. Lovely and romantic, especially because you get all the benefits of world-ending sex without the world actually ending.

A Falling Summer by [livejournal.com profile] enoughoflove. (Jared/Chad) This pairing may not be everyone's cup of tea--it's certainly not my favorite pairing--but this is a very sweet high school summer romance between best friends who are finding out for the first time they mean more to each other. I wanted a little more resolution in the ending, but otherwise I enjoyed this.

She's a Handsome Woman by [livejournal.com profile] hkath. A J2 version of Tootsie, though it's been so long since I've seen that film I couldn't say how true to the movie it is. Jensen crossdresses to get a part in a soap; Jared is one of his co-stars. Great supporting cast, especially Misha as his crazy roommate, and Chad as a lovestruck rich guy. Jared's 18-month-old daughter Charlie steals the show, though. A very enjoyable read.

oh, Chad--I'd planned on avoiding that completely. I've only ever read one Chad-centric story...I do like high-school romances though.

Oh roxy, you enormous hoor--what *don't* you like as long as it has dangly bits?

Well, there's certainly nothing wrong with reading outside your main pairings. Actually, my favorite Chad story is I think Chad/JDM, if I'm not misremembering, and I only clicked on it because it sounded like a completely outrageous pairing to me, but the story turned out to be amazingly sweet. I think they bonded over Chad's injured dog, of all things?
