RIP John Hughes

John Hughes died of a heart attack this morning. This makes me sad--those movies really shaped my high school experience, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off is still one of my all-time favorite films.

isn't that a shame? he made some wonderful films, and he was much too young to go.

That's so sad - I grew up on his films. He was young too.

Yeah, it was really shocking. And I'm surprised how upset I am about it, though thinking about it, I really identified with his films (most of the major ones came out when I was in high school, and they were set in the Chicago area, where I grew up).
