Smallville: Idol
That was just completely happymaking.
Squeeful things
1. Clark's chest makes a reappearance. YAYITY.
2. I don't know if it was a vision of the future or a fantasy, and I don't really care--that opening scene with Lois and Clark was hot like burning. (And I suspect it was at least connected to Lois's future visions, so yayity again.)
3.Wondertwins? Seriously? I had this flashback to being about 7 years old and watching Superfriends or the Justice League or whatever that cartoon was, probably my very first exposure to the Superman mythos. "Wondertwin powers, ACTIVATE!" That was just FUN. And the fact that they completely blundered their way through things is very much like that ancient 70s cartoon, too--they were always biting off more than they could chew and having to be rescued, if I recall correctly.
4. Lois figuring it out! Of course she doesn't get to keep the knowledge, but I still kind of love that she found out, and her response to it was going to be letting him keep his secret and do what she could to help preserve it.
5. Lois and her therapist--all of those scenes were pure gold. Especially Lois telling the patient that she'll save her a lot of time and money, it's all her parents' fault. Hee!
6. CLARK!! SO SUPERMANLY!!! I love that he protected the Wondertwins even though they were giving him a bad rap, but then warned them to be more careful and take the superhero gig more seriously. But what I really loved most about that scene was him saying that the point of the shield was that he wanted people to be inspired and step up and be heroes, and to believe in the shield (and themselves) more than believing in him. *Happy sigh*
7. More Clois kisses can never be a bad thing. And I love love love that Lois is starting to appreciate CLark's more heroic qualities--like going on the ledge to help her--even though she got persuaded he wasn't the Blur.
8. GLASSES!

The whole wordless conversation in the beginning before they kissed was gorgeous.
Clark SMILING all smitten like and Lois ranting at the Blur on the phone was adorable.
And the way he said "I wish I could" when Lois said no one can be two people was absolutely precious.
I also loved the therapy scenes, and at the end of the last one when Lois talked about the sweet, scared guy who went out on the ledge to save her. So sweet.
Both Tom and Erica were fantastic!

Oh yes, COMPLETELY. They were both really adorable in this episode. It's definitely my favorite Clois episode ever.

Hah, YES! There was so much else awesome about this ep that I totally forgot about this somehow. Clearly, I've had some sort of brain injury. ;-) Also, YES that opening scene was seriously hot. *fans self*
her response to it was going to be letting him keep his secret and do what she could to help preserve it.
This. She could've been so angry and hurt, but instead? She understood and was helping him keep his secret. I still really wish she'd been allowed to continue to believe. *is impatient*

Yes. That's my Superman. I loved that at least as much, if not even more than all the Clark/Lois stuff, and I adored the Clark/Lois stuff. Awww, Clark. You're almost there! Now we just need flights and tights. ;-)
I love that Lois remains interested even after she thinks she knows he isn't the Blur; that's the way I want my Lois and Clark relationship to go.
And, finally: GLASSES!!!

Yes, yes, yes. I know it's comics canon that she doesn't find out for a long time, and we have years of SV canon saying Clark's secret is dangerous, and I still don't care. I want her to know! Because she is awesome when she knows--really his best ally ever.

I am totally ready for that. And Miles and Gough are gone--maybe it could happen!

The dirty politician angle is fun, though since that actor played Mike Celucci on Blood Ties, I have a hard time disliking him. (In my head the whole time I was saying "he must be undercover!")

Heh, I know. That alone gets this ep major points.

Clark' "I am the shield" line was made of win. That's our Supes right there. He was so great in this ep. And I loved that he was allowed the opportunity to help and influence the twins.
