Dear NBC

When I decide to tape Smallville to watch the opening ceremonies, I would like to see the actual fricking opening ceremonies, NOT all of this filler crap. *Remembers why I usually watch these things with the sound completely turned off* I could be watching Smallville live right now, thank you very much. *Fumes*

Hee! Ok, if it were narrated by Fraser, that would make it tolerable. I am currently watching with the sound off, since I do love the gorgeous gorgeous shots of Canada--I just don't want the idiotic narration.

So they said this was pretaped when they started broadcasting on the west coast at 7:30--does this mean that where you are they're actually showing (or have shown) the opening ceremonies? I'm trying to decide how long I'm willing to wait to keep watching this.

Yup, it's 10:45 here, and we've had the First Nations welcoming ceremonies (cool), the entrance of all the teams, the amazing performances representing the regions of Canada (which reminds me of that second act favorite of many ballets: The prince watches dances of many lands). Sarah McLaughlin, kd lang, a slam poet. Speeches, flag raisings, the Olympic hymn by an opera singer with the awesomest hair ever...

Dude, I am about to move there.

Yeah, it's 9 here and it's finally starting. Argh, I could have watched all of Smallville and not missed anything.

I told myself I’d wait for it to show up on CW’s website. And I was pissy just like you. I cry, “False advertising!” I wish I’d known it would really start at 9 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. like my listings said.

Now I have to wait a few days!

Yeah, NBC totally sucks. I don't have to wait quite as long--I can watch it tonight--but still, I feel very deceived.
