SPN: The Devil you know

I only have one line of response to the Vampire Diaries, so totally not worth making a separate post:
And that is that I find Damon with 19th c. hair insanely attractive, and I'm not even sure why. Oh, make that 2 sentences. I was very sad they killed off Pearl!

And I don't really have that much more to say about Supernatural.

1. Of the shallow: Normally I am totally a Dean girl, but when Sam was being all threatening to Crowley? DAYUM. I couldn't quite understand why it was Sam rather than Dean being the one all suspicious of demons*, but I can give the writers a pass on that as long as it brings out threatening!Sam, who apparently I find hot like a HOT THING. And normally I find his hair annoying but in the scene where he was threatening Crowley it looked good.

2. Of the amused: I couldn't understand how Dean would choose to trust Crowley--it seemed very out of character for him--but I did love Crowley's lines. Especially "they ate my tailor." HEE! Though the best line of the night had to be Bobby's "I'll shoot you so full of rock salt you'll crap margaritas."

3. Of the confused: in addition to not quite understanding why Dean was trusting Crowley, I really didn't understand his taking a beating from the demon Whitney Fordham (sorry, I don't care that his SPN name was Brad, he'll be Whitney forever to me)(ETA OOPS his name is actually Brady. when he had the knife. At first I thought this was part of Crowley's plan, but from Dean's reaction when he got out of the elevator it really wasn't.

4. Of the shallow again: HELLO WHITNEY! You make a very attractive demon, even if you are named Brad. (RLY? Is anyone actually named Brad anymore?) (Ok, Brady is better than Brad, and I should pay more attention when watching). Does anyone else think they should have cast Eric Johnson as Lucifer? I want Lucifer to be hot, dammit.

5. Of the mytharc: So Whitney killed Jessica? Wow, I totally thought all these years it was Azazel. I really can't blame Sam for killing him; I actually kind of wish they had employed some of Dean's torture skills. I LOVE Jess--if there's an AU where Jess lives, I guarantee I've already read it 5 or 6 times.

6. Of the mytharc, part 2: Someone tell me Bobby is way too smart to take Crowley's deal. He is, right? RIGHT??

7. Of the YAY: Hurray for Dean trusting Sam could control his anger when he saw Whitney.

8. Of the WTF:
(A)How the hell could Crowley beam in to Bobby's, which I am sure is warded better than any space in North America?
(B) Why are they wasting time putting the Croatoan virus in a vaccine when Pestilence could just be spreading that directly instead of H1N1?
(C) Why is Sam considering such a suicidal strategy of letting Lucifer in when he knows he couldn't even fight Meg off before?
(D) Why can't demons just use cell phones? (Ok, that death was kind of grimly humorous, but still.)(And I'm not really serious about this question).

* I can see why Sam is now suspicious of demons, after his experience with Ruby, and his feeling that Crowley double-crossed them and got Jo and Ellen killed; I just don't see why he is UBER suspicious and Dean doesn't seem suspicious at all, at least for Dean.

My niece and I have decided that Crowley has the power to render Sam and Dean magically STUPID because they were OOC stupid the last time they met, too.

8) A.I'm thinking Crowley had to be an Azazel level demon--it took a gigantic iron devil's trap to keep him out of the graveyard in Wyoming. Though really, Bobby's place has got to be defcon-1 level warded, right?

Hmm. I guess he could be a high-powered demon, and I'm just relying too much on fanon for the strength of Bobby's wards.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking they were rendered somewhat stupid in this.

Aw! they killed Pearl! She was the HBIC. I haven't watched it yet, was the episode good? it sounds very anticlimatic.

Word! with Supernatural, is it me or was Sam in "don't fuck with me" mode. "I will cut a bitch and he did though I can't blame him". Totally hot! I am a Dean girl too, but ever since that towel scene in season 1 I have been a Sammy girl too. I loved Jess in the pilot andI was surprised when they killed her off, I wanted her to stick around. I thought that old yellow eyes killed her too, but he was still connected to it and had a contract out on the poor girl so I am not surprised in that aspect. I am just glad they didn't retcon anything!

I don't think Dean trusted Crowely. I think he saw an opportunity and took it, well to me anyway. I did love when Sam was pouting and drinking; talking to Bobby about how Dean left him. Also, not surprised that Sam was suspicious after the crap he through with yellow eyes, Brad, Meg, Ruby, and Ruby 2.0 etc I would be more worried if he wasn't more suspicious of anyone that looked at him the wrong way.

Brad is Whitney from SV? I didn't recognize him!I knew a kid named Brad I went to school with when I was younger, he was annoying as hell. LOL

As always in VD, a LOT of stuff went on. (You've probably actually seen it by now, so I won't recap, but it was actually pretty action-filled).

Sam really is hot when he's angry.

I got the name wrong, apparently; it is Brady rather than Bradley. Whoops.

The whole ep of SPN felt off to me. The only part I enjoyed was Crowley introducing his Hell Hound and then the invisible fight between the hounds that followed.

Oh, I forgot to talk about the Hell Hound bit. That was really fun. (And I'm always amused when they have hell hounds--they must save a lot of $$ when they get to have invisible monsters).

About VD (I'm not squeamish! I can say VD!) - two hot boys shirtless was a nice treat, even especially if they were in total angst mode -- and it was very cool to learn that the reason behind Damon's punishing Stefan was that Stefan forced Damon to turn (when Damon didn't want to live any longer because she'd brought Stefan along), and I'm still looking for slash. Together forever, with guilt and anger and resentment - oh, well, nevermind...


Still in Remedial SPN (about halfway through Season 2 on TNT) so not able to comment on current ep, except to say it's interesting to see the crossover from other shows - and what a pity Death isn't Peter Wingfield. Le sigh.

Yeah, the shirtless scene was definitely very hot, and I also really liked the Stefan reveal.

I don't think PW would be appropriate for Death on SPN, since this death is supposed to be repulsive, not attractive.

I’m so pissy about Pearl’s death! That said, I always got the feeling that Anna would always be the little girl as long as she was around and hopefully, now she’ll be on her way to being her own person.

And wasn’t TVD extremely slashy this week?



My only thought about this week’s SPN is a very shallow, too bad Brad died so that means no hot sex with him and Sam.

I do like Pelligrino as Lucifer, I think he does a Lucifer who’s good at getting sympathy through manipulation. As for Johnson, I think he’d make one nothing but bad yet nothing but sexy Lucifer. That would work for me too.

It's like TVD is competing with SPN to be the slashiest show on TV, or something. (I totally forgot to mention Crowley's great line "Lovers in league against Lucifer).

Pellegrino is a good actor, I agree, but he does nothing for me.
