Random thoughts in no particular order:
1. So if anyone was calculating the odds of Bobby dying next week, I think the fact that he got his legs back this week raises the probability to something like 80%, don't you? (And as someone who has read WAY too much angelfic in the past few months in which Castiel, Gabriel or one of the other angels just casually gives Bobby back his ability to walk, I have to say I laughed like a hyena when the person who did it was Crowley, AND he did it by inserting a clause into Bobby's deal. HILARIOUS).
2. Speaking of hilarity, Crowley is really giving Castiel a run for his money in the funny lines department. "Why'd you have to take a picture"/"Why'd you have to use tongue" may well be the funniest lines of the whole series. If they do keep Castiel around next year (which I am doubtful of) they should keep Crowley, too, for balance.
3. On the probability of Castiel's death: I'm really uncertain. The fact that he's human now makes me think they may not kill him off, but on the other hand I'm not really sure what they'd do with him next year, since they're unlikely to make his romance with Dean textual. :-)
4. And speaking of Death in general: that scene between Dean and Death KICKED ASS. I was trying to figure out why I loved it so much, and I realized that we almost never see Dean in awe of any supernatural beings anymore--look how he responded to the pagan gods--but he honestly seemed to respect Death's power, or at least he was exposing a vulnerable side to himself that we rarely see. And Death was terrific. I love the idea that he and God can't remember which of them is older. And I really, really loved that he referenced life on other planets, because I've always thought the angels' focus on Earth was a bit parochial. (I know Gabriel tried to talk Kali into "getting off this marble" but that's the only other time anyone has suggested there might be life elsewhere, on this show.)
5. I hate to be an utter pragmatist, but does it actually matter if Sam can throw off the devil's power or not as long as he says yes and then gets pushed into the pit? Either way it doesn't sound like they have much of a plan for saving Sam, so....
Of course I know they're going to save Sam, since I'm familiar with genre television; I'm just wondering about all this debate about whether Sam is strong enough or Sam is good enough to fight off the devil blah blah blah. Of course, it looks like it's setting us up for a nice psychodrama next week, so I guess ultimately I don't mind that they spent so much time in this episode doubting Sam. Does anyone actually think Lucifer will win? The only thing I'm really worried about is how much collateral damage there's going to be when the Winchester brothers win. I think all the deancastiel folks are going to have a total meltdown if Castiel dies. And I'm still in mourning for Gabriel, personally, so if we lose both Bobby and Castiel it's going to be a long sad summer. I expect Crowley is also toast, and heck, they might even find a way to kill off Chuck and Becky. The only safe folks are Sam and Dean, and they might even make Sam spend the summer in hell.
So yeah, really looking forward to next week. :/

No matter who dies, I'm not looking forward to it. I'm still in complete denial about Gabriel and expect him to pop in at any time saying something like "Too bad you boys didn't catch the light show when Lucifer thought he'd killed me. It was some of my best work. The wings alone were a work of art."

I refuse to love Crowley because I know he will break my heart and Ruby me, but it's really hard not to....
