Smallville: Homecoming

Yay! 200 episodes! And episodes like this are why I have kept watching for the past ten years.

I don't actually have a lot to say, other than I loved it. Well, maybe I can make a list of things I specifically loved:

1. Present Clark encountering future Clark. That was a great scene, and future Clark was totally dorkaliciously sexy while simultaneously possessing that Superman gravitas.

2. ALL of the Clark/Lois stuff, from Lois trying to lift his spirits via reunion, to future Lois being absolutely amazing with past Clark, to that dance in the barn with bonus floating action. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little verklempt at that.

3. The Lana and Chloe flashbacks. I was thinking it was going to be very weird for Clark to be back at the high school without them, so I was so happy to see them, even if via flashback. And wow, did I ever get a wave of nostalgia for season one.

4. The TORCH REPORTERS! How completely cute, that Chloe has a whole new generation carrying on in her footsteps! And I loved that she texted them at the end.

5. Clark in that crown--OMG, the look on his face made me laugh and laugh.

6. I am actually pretty pleased that this whole "darkness in Clark" BS turns out to be his own guilt and overdeveloped sense of responsibility. I was glad he got to see how his dad actually died, and the combination of the flashback to the funeral and then his conversation at the graveside at the end really made me cry.

7. I still don't know if I agree with Oliver's decision to come out, but I did love how he pwned that reporter once Clark showed up to boost his confidence.

8. OMG, I really loved Bug Boy coming to thank Clark. That was another thing in this episode that made me a little verklempt.

9. I was ROFL at that one classmate who was being so admiring of Lana mentioning her running a coffee shop in high school, because how often did we all criticize that concept? Hee.

I totally loved it too. Its going to be hard to write a coherent review, because even hours later, pretty much all I can do is type 'squee' followed by lots of exclamation marks!

It was everything a 200th episode should be--even including a couple flashbacks to the 100th episode!

I am still floating happily on cloud #9. The episode was perfect. I especially enjoyed the future stuff, and how everything he saw in this episode made Clark inspire himself and let go of everything holding him down and be confident and happy. Guh. ♥

YES! It was such a lovely episode!

I'm so annoyed that I have plans today that I can't get out of. I want to rewatch this episode so badly, and I still haven't seen last night's SPN or Sanctuary (which I'm adding to my rotation).

Well, I hope you get to rewatch soon.

What's Sanctuary?

I loved this episode, too! The flashbacks were a very clever way of having Lana and Chloe there, but not really.

In most versions of Superman, I'm not all that big of a fan of Lois. She always struck me as a starry-eyed fangirl of Superman, who was dismissive of Clark. Superman came first with her and always would.

But Smallville's version - of a Lois who loves Clark and believes in him and would do anything for him, who thinks of his abilities as a part of him, but aren't solely him - that's a version I adore.

I definitely agree that this is my favorite incarnation of Lois ever!

It was aces and, yeah, a perfect example of what's kept me watching all these years.

future Clark was totally dorkaliciously sexy while simultaneously possessing that Superman gravitas.

He was delicious! I'm afraid I might be ruined for all other live-action incarnations of Clark Kent now, thanks to TW there.

ALL of the Clark/Lois stuff, from Lois trying to lift his spirits via reunion, to future Lois being absolutely amazing with past Clark, to that dance in the barn with bonus floating action. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little verklempt at that.

Co-sign.

3. The Lana and Chloe flashbacks. I was thinking it was going to be very weird for Clark to be back at the high school without them, so I was so happy to see them, even if via flashback. And wow, did I ever get a wave of nostalgia for season one.

They were so itty-bitty and precious! I got a serious wave of nostalgia, too!

5. Clark in that crown--OMG, the look on his face made me laugh and laugh.

Nothing I've seen this week, or will see next week, is going to be as hilarious as his face while wearing that crown. It was fantastically funny!

Again, totally agreed on all counts.

8. OMG, I really loved Bug Boy coming to thank Clark. That was another thing in this episode that made me a little verklempt.

I loved that to teeny, tiny pieces. And it made me a little verklempt, too.

*Twirls you* This was definitely a great episode for both Clark and Lois. And boy do I agree with you about TW spoiling us for any other incarnation of Clark. And this ep definitely had a great blend of humor and poignant moments, like with Greg Arkin and the callbacks to Reckoning.

I loved this episode. It was nice and the Clois dancing/floating was one of the best moments. I love their intimate scenes more when non kissage is involved.

Loved seeing SV High again and for a moment when watching the promo I got flashbacks of "Spirit" from season 4 especially when Lifehouse played. Heh!

I hate this whole spirit animal idea for Clark but I approve of Brainiac 5 though. He was good and didn't criticize Clark but made him rethink some of his choices and let Clark come up with own conclusions after facing the past and future.

One thing that is great about season 10 so far is TPTB remember Jonathon. He played a key role in Clark's life and it is nice to see Clark refer back to his parents and visit their gravesite every once in awhile.

I pretty much love any Clark/Lois intimacy, personally.

Spirit animal? I think I missed something.

I agree about the Jonathan flashbacks--now if only they can bring back AOT for a couple episodes.

I agree about Clois though they just seem to sparkle more without all the kissing. I like the kissing though too.

Spirit Animal, well Clark's guide. I referred to Brainiac 5 as "spirit animal" is because of the role he played in Homecoming but I could have it wrong.

I was verklempt all over the place during this episode. It hit so many of my squee buttons, it was overwhelming.
