Three things make a post
1. I thought everyone knew by now that LJ was under a DDOS attack, but I've seen at least three posts today with people asking what was going on, so here are a few links explaining what's going on. I personally don't plan to move off LJ unless the whole service goes down permanently, but I do have about 8 invites to Dreamwidth, so if anyone wants one, drop me a comment. And backing up things is never a bad idea, which leads me to point two:
2. Beloved fandom authors, please archive your fic! In more than one spot! This week people are worried about LJ servers, but I had a similar reaction when the A03 servers were down for scheduled maintenance a few weeks ago--more places is better.
killabeez has a great post about some different options here.
3. I haven't been posting about The Good Wife for the last few weeks because I've been crazy busy, but holy roller coaster ride of emotions, batman!
I don't think I've been this worried about the fate of a fictional character since Dean Winchester was first headed to hell in season 3 of SPN, but all season the Kalinda plot has had me on tenterhooks. And that episode three weeks ago where she finally faced off with Blake and the grand jury had me completely tearing my hair out even though I knew she was going to come out on top. But damn, this show can't let me bask in her amazing victory over Blake (and I thought it was completely brilliant how she basically framed him for sleeping with the gangster's wife), because it had to drop that huge bomb about her sleeping with Peter at the very end of the episode.
So for the past two weeks I've been terrified about what's going to happen when Alicia finds out, because the Alicia/Kalinda friendship (or just plain ship) is what hooked me on this show in the first place. The suspense is KEEELING ME, I swear! And now that it's been 2 weeks and it hasn't happened, I'm afraid it's going to end up being the season cliffhanger, and I'll be worried about it all summer.
Meanwhile I love the other plotlines going on, especially Michael J. Fox trying to steal Alicia for his new firm, and Eli actually showing his human side (first trying to save America Ferrara's dad from being deported last week, and then actually getting insulted on Alicia's behalf this week when the reporter asked her about her HIV status). I really, really hope Eli is going to be able to stick around in some capacity next year, because I love him. Oh, and I also am really liking the extent to which Cary is sticking his neck out for Kalinda, especially because I don't think the show would actually go the Alicia/Kalinda route, so if they can't do that Cary/Kalinda is my next favorite ship. Also, it looks like it's hurting him professionally at the district attorney's office, so maybe that means he'll end up back at Lockhart/Gardner next year.

I actually have a little hope they might give us canonical Cary/Kalinda, though I did kind of understand what you meant. (And SV has trained you to like hopeless romance, I think!)
I don't think it would be bad if Alicia left L/G for a while--it might open up some storylines, the same as Cary going to the prosecutor's office. And since it looks like they're going to continue down the Alicia/Will storyline, I'd be a lot more comfortable about that if he wasn't her boss. I wouldn't want her to leave permanently, of course, because I like all the L/G folks.
