Arrow
I'm surprised I haven't seen more of my Smallville peeps posting about Arrow--I expected more people to try it out. (Though maybe you're just not posting about it? Or like me you're behind on TV and need to catch up?)
Anyway, my non-spoilery reactions are (A) I don't think anyone will ever replace Justin Hartley and his pretty, pretty chest eyes for me, but Stephen Amell is a lot hotter in action than he appeared to me in still photography, and I really like his (much darker) Oliver and (B) it will probably take me YEARS to stop thinking of the Queen mansion as Lex Luthor's house. Seriously, is that the only big mansion in Vancouver they can use for the CW?
Somewhat more spoilery reactions behind the cut
1. I was a little stunned at how many people Oliver killed in this, but it definitely sets a tone. This is not Smallville, and he isn't Clark Kent.
2. I am extremely intrigued by Oliver's mom, and her possible involvement in whatever bad stuff his dad did. And damn, his dad shooting the minion and himself so Oliver could live was very hard core.
3. What was on that island, anyway? He clearly had some sort of training there, as well as a lot of fighting-fir-his-life stuff and some Russian speaker. Interesting.
4. DINAH! One episode in and this is already my favorite role for Katie Cassidy (and I actually really liked her both in SPN and Harper's Island.)
5. His friend has already figured out about Green Arrow, right? Since he doesn't seem like the trustworthy type, that makes me wonder how long he's going to survive.
6. I'm a little worried about his poor bodyguard.
That is all. I'm falling asleep, because the damn CW streaming viewer kept crashing on me, so it took almost 2 hours to watch a 40 minute episode and it's past my bedtime. But I'm definitely going to keep watching.
