Arrow
So I'm still a week behind on Arrow--I just watched "Vertigo," and have only shallow thoughts:
I've been watching this show in a pretty non-committed fashion from the beginning. Pretty much every week I wonder if I should keep watching or not. The island scenes, especially, I have tended to find very boring. I don't know what it is about the past couple episodes, though, but I'm actually feeling pretty hooked--I'm even enjoying the island scenes! Well, at least to the point of not fast-forwarding through them.
But you know I am invested because I've started shipping people. Actually, Vertigo made me see 3 ships I would actually be interested in seeing: Oliver/Diggle, Oliver/McKenna, and Oliver/Felicity. I'd already been interested in Oliver/Diggle on a kind of intellectual level, because I like the way Diggle is humanizing Oliver and acting kind of as his moral center, but I think it was the scene with him having to hold a half-naked Oliver down while Oliver's under the influence of Vertigo that really, really pinged my slash meter. DAMN.
I also really love the idea of Oliver/Felicity--she's been amazingly good about putting up with his completely lameass lies, and I like her a lot so I'm happy she's become his go-to tech person. (I don't know why an IT person would be performing chemical analyses, but whatever, it's TV). And McKenna seems like an interesting character; I hope they keep her around.
In conclusion, if anyone has recs for Oliver/Diggle, let me have them!
