I don't know if blackmailing Alicia to keep her would work, but maybe more emotional blackmail? (Like, I covered up for Peter and this is how you repay me? Which might estrange her from Peter, which is probably something he wants?) On the other hand, that could backfire just as badly. And of course Diane has a vested interest in keeping Peter in office so she gets her judgeship, so I don't know.

Oh, yeah, the shifting alliances were really fun. It would be nice if they were on a case where they got to work with Martha Plimpton's character rather than against her.
