I pretty much quit Supernatural when they killed off [character name redacted to avoid old spoilers, but people still watching probably know what recurring female character I'm referring to]. Still, when I had heard that they were doing a whole episode from the Impala's POV I was intrigued, and since I was slow to turn off the TV last night after Arrow, I realized that this was the episode, so I watched it.

And without being spoilery, while I did actually enjoy the episode, it was no Knight Moves , and I realized what I really really wanted from this episode was sentient Impala fic. Preferably where she has sex with Dean. Oh well!

All of what you said...the quitting but the checking in here and there and kinda enjoying the ep. It was low on mythos and high on just the boys being themselves, which I didn't use to appreciate but these days I'll take that over the darkness any day.

(Also, the beer under the smoothie and werepires? Just so them :)

Yes, it was nice to see them just being themselves and solving an old-fashioned-style case. I also loved the John Winchester flashback-y prophecy. I have been completely uninterested in the mythology for at least 3 seasons, and last year I was really only watching the Charlie episodes, so when they killed her off I thought I was done for good. Apparently I was still watch the occasional episode, though.
