Yes, I once met a man who had learnt this secret. He said that what men didn't realise about women is that they really love people being really skilled at something--and I couldn't help but agree! It certainly held true in tae kwon-do... even the most outwardly dorky person *transformed* before my eyes if they were a first or second dan or above (the higher the better, and the more serious about it, the better). We (my fellow girltkd'ers and I) had serious crushes on people that outside of tkd we would have passed on the street without noticing.
