No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. So I guess I will get the party started:

1. Me: I'm a former lurker (of something like 5 years in SV, much longer in other fandoms, though I was a little active in Highlander in the late 90s) who has been active in fandom for about 9 months. I'm 37, I live in California, and I'm single.
2. Likes : I love Lex, Chloe, and Lionel, and I like pretty much every other character on SV. I'm primarily a Clex person but I read pretty much every pairing that has ever been written. I'm polyfannish, historically (Trek, X-files, Buffy, Highlander, SW:TPM), and currently mostly focused on SV, though I flirt with Veronica Mars and Battlestar Galactica on the side.
3. Dislikes: Stories that are written just to character bash. Unkindness.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? Te's fiction

   I stumbled onto some hot Clex story about a limo ride and decided to find out what the story was about. :-p

   Memoria, Reckoning, Hourglass, Rogue, Hug, Leech, Hidden, Splinter.

   Well, I like pink and food. I love the standard fare of chinese, japanese, french and italian. But also, I really like Himalayan food and Vietnamese pho. I like to move and bop about so listen to dance music (http://www.energy927fm.com) a lot. If I could own pets, I’d own bengal cats and pomerian or whippet dogs. If money weren’t an option, hm… I’d buy lots rental properties with a portfolio diversified around the world to have a (relatively) steady source of income. But mostly, I wouldn’t settle down in one place for the next ten years but live a jet-setting life between San Francisco, San Diego, Boston plus lots of places in Europe.

Me: I'm pretty awesome and happy. Except when i'm mad, but i'm usually mad in such an adorable way that i'm still cute. I also think very highly of myself, but how could I not, yknow, with me being awesome and all.
2. Likes: the word 'awesome' also 'dude' and 'for sure'. Fannishly I like Clex to read, my favourite shows are House and then Prison Break (Smalllville has its own category and doesn't count). An honourable mention goes to Veronica Mars, which I beleive is the only show in history where my favourite character is the main character. I miss Angel very much and can often be found hugging my DVD's and crying about Wes.
3. Dislikes: Ooooh, I really don't like a lot of things. People mostly, but that kind of fascinating dislike that means I almost like them a little too. And lies, I hate lies.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? the show? It was just on one day and I flipped out because Lex was doing Clark's tie and they weren't enemies. I wanted to know how it ended! I have such a love for two friends breaking up and heartbreaking stories of epic love (of any kind) being destroyed by deceit or betrayal or even just the passage of time. It was like the perfect show for me.
5. Favorite SV episodes? Memoria, Shattered and I really couldn't love Aqua anymore than I do. (*is still giggling*)
6. What SV story do you reread most often? Um...I have no idea. I will try and discern the answer today!
7. Random facts: My favourite food is chicken, ginger and spring onion from the takeaway down the road. Or maybe Zinger Tower Burgers from KFC. Right now i'm wearing my jeans with the knees that wore out (they're not stylish, they're just old and torn) and my favourite Superman tshirt. I have my cool stripy stockings on under my jeans so my little knees don't get cold, I look pretty awesome.

Wee! This looks fun!

1. Me: 21 years old. Biology student. Soon-to-be college-graduate. Kind of a newbie to fandom, I stumbled upon it when I rediscovered SV less than a year ago.
2. Likes: Fannishly, I like Lexana/Clex/Clois/Chlex (multi-shipping rules), making icons, and writing fanfic. SV fandom may consume me, but House is my favorite show. Random things I love are public art, coffee shops, chai, garlic naan, shoes (I have 60+ pairs. They are my weakness.), outdoor markets, camping, and road trips. I love random acts of kindness and smiling at strangers, as it seems that too many people are walking around with sticks up their bums.
3. Dislikes: Loud eating, wasabi, small spaces, skinny jeans, ugg boots, grape-flavoured anything, music snobs, flying (even though I love to travel), negative folk, and Kristom shipping.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? I've always been into superhero stories. Batman (with Adam West) was a childhood fave, and Batman was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. I liked Superman as well. Saw the movies as a wee one and then LnC when I got older. So when SV came on, I was naturally and instantly intrigued.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Pilot, Shattered, Memoria, Onyx, Splinter, Lexmas. Too many to list.
6. What SV story do you reread most often? Anything by Zannie (http://www.zannie.net). More specifically, her story 'Attachments (http://www.zannie.net/smallville/attachments.php)', the first piece of fanfic I ever read, and a good one at that.

1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm Suzycat, I live in New Zealand, I'm 41. Nearly 42 in fact. Gasp. I'm a journalist.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Lex, Lex, Lex, Clark and Lex in that order. I ship Clex. I'm not really active in the fandom any more, but SV is my one and only and Clex my OTP, though I like Chlark, hetwise, on the show. I like Lex/Lionel (so long as it is sick, dirty and wrong, not lovey woo wah), nasty!fuckedup!Clex with wrong!sick!sex, and I secretly believe in MR/JG as an RPS pairing. Genrewise, I'm not hugely into your actual genre programming as a rule. I like The Sopranos (it's on telly right this second), Oz (LOVE), cheesy glitzy shows, dark moody shows, obscure 70s kids' shows that I grew up with, and heaps and heaps of other TV but not in an actively fannish way. RL stuff: I like coffee, cats, belly dancing, day dreaming, pretending to be an academic...
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Lana. I don't hate her, I just wish she would go away and find herself. I dislike Clana, tolerate Lexana as a clear example of displaced desire on the part of both parties (because it makes Lana vaguely interesting), and think Lois is all very well but she should NOT BE ON THE SHOW. Ooh! I powerfully dislike uke!Lex. Lex is a TOP. Genres I dislike: faux Celtic/mystykal crap. (I always watch, you understand, to spork.) Shows: I don't get the attraction of TAR. I think people fancying Jonathon Rhys Meyers is sick and wrong. I hate gum passionately.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? TWoP. I used to hang about there a lot in the early days of the show and RPed Lex for GOD about four centuries on the Anvil thread.

I then started watching the show convinced that Lionel had abused Lex in the past, and that some past episode must confirm it *scratches head*

1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm Harmony, 21 years old, Canadian, just woke up, and hiding from my cat.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? I stumbled on the TWoP SV board when reading GG recaps, and somehow started reading fic. Then I was forced to watch the show, if only to see these lovely boys! But since that was in the middle of the 3rd season, there are still a bunch of 2nd and 3rd seasons eps that I've never seen.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? I'm not awake enough to answer that! These last few were awesome, and I can't watch Heat and Red often enough. Oh, also Perry!
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Ditto, can't think yet. Maybe I'll think of one once I've had some caffeine.
7. Random facts : As you can see, the first thing I do when I wake up is check LJ. Bad habit! I have an orange cat. I haven't been able to see the top of my desk since about November. I avoid wearing socks when I can. I'm going to Switzerland in July. I wish I had curly hair. I love this social thing!

i'm not really a lurker, just sort of shy. (someone in my personal LJ once called me a gregarious recluse, which fits better than anything.)

1. Tell us something about yourself: i'm older than anyone else here, promise. my husband has a terminal illness. i write poetry and never watch tv. italian was my major in college, and i love more than anything reading it aloud when i see it on menus or wine bottles.

Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): i flipped for michael rosenbaum when my friend aquandrian started using MR icons from the film Rave Macbeth. he makes me wish i were 30 years younger and in the right place, if you know what i mean. i enjoyed the smallville eps i've seen so far, but i'm in the fandom for the fiction. it's Clex all the way, for me.
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): i don't like lana, never have, especially when paired with clark. lionel is evil, but very well played, so i can tolerate him. i'm socially avoidant but having to overcome it, with difficulty.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? my friend aquandrian gave me some links to SV fics, after i started getting into her rosenbaum fannishness, and that was that. goodbye, harry potter.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? haven't seen many, but i really liked Exile, with clark wearing his hair shaggy and looking exceedingly sensuous.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? uhh. right now, i'm rereading Rageprufrock's conner series, because i love conner and geoffrey (and even terry) with weird passion. henry jones jr.'s Infinite Possibilities. CM Decarnin's "truth, justice, etc." series. too many to go on about, really.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.) my cat's name is zack, he's fat and has only one ear, and he's a good little friend. i tend to have one pair of shoes that lasts for years. if i had lex's money, i'd have a villa outside Rome, penthouse apartments in Paris and Copenhagen, and a summer home on lake monroe, near bloomington, indiana. 1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm 28, an editor, an Australian (Melbourne) and an SV fan (duh!)
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Smallville, Clex/Clois/Lexana, MR and TW (of course!) Battlestar Galactica, House, BtVS, AtS and many a show before then... I have loved fannish shows for a long time without being in fandom. It was SV that broke me--less than a year ago (wow!? has it only been a year?), when I took a week off work to *ahem* watch all four seasons then in existence. Other likes: food, good-quality chocolate, books, films, martial arts, dogs (and other animals), history (my major at uni), pastries with raspberries in them. Oh. And Johnny Depp. *g*

Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) : I really don't dislike any characters--I'm too intrigued by the construction of SV to dislike *anyone*, though I had my Lana-hating days... I hate few things but among them are DH Lawrence, the movie 'signs', crap doctors, negativity in fandom, my timezone and prejudiced behaviour anywhere.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Not much of a fanfic rereader, but I reread rivkat's humourous fics when I need cheering--Hideaway, and An Englishman... and Switch.

Hey guys

1. Tell us something about yourself: Chimosa here and I've only recently de-lurked (Like, what, Feb? ish?) and I've been tinkering in writing slash though I've been reading it for eight years.
2. Likes: Don't really watch TV, but love their fandoms! I had been reading SV fic for months before ever watching the show and often times I'll read a show's fic while never actually watching the show. Oooo, and talent, of any kind. Nothing makes a person sexier to me then talent (I'm looking at you, Michael Rosenbaum)
3. Dislikes: Unbetaed fic. It kind of drives me crazy when there are mistakes in a piece that could have been avoided with a beta. Or even, you know, basic spell check. Hate anime (sorry to you enthusiasts out there)
4. What got you interested in Smallville? The fic? Why the hot man on man action, of course! The show... hm. I guess when my friends and I made a drinking game for it, it made the show much more bearable. Until then I had to walk out of the room whenever Lex or Lionel wasn't on camera
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Reckoning. (I haven't actually seen anything other then S5)

1. Me: 27 single female, computer programmer from Troy, NY. Still mostly a lurker with the occassional story post and even rarer non-story post. Was in HP fandom before Smallville though I've mostly left it now. I occassionally lurk in Stargate and Firefly places as well.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? Sister got Season 2 on DVD for Christmas. First episode I saw was 'Vortex' on December 26, 2004. Within two weeks, I'd seen all of season one, part of season two (sister kept her DVDs and I had to go home after only seeing Vortex, Heat, Duplicity, Nocturn, Redux, Lineage, Ryan, Dichotic, and Skinwalker), all of season three, and was severely sleep deprived. Started watching Season 4 somewhere in the middle of the season and caught the rest of Season 2 sometime in February. Consequently, I'm not terribly clear on chronology and often mix up early season 2 and season 1.
5. Favorite SV episodes: Jitters, Lineage, Zero, Onyx.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Identical by Lanning, the Simon/Lex firefly crossover whose name and author I currently can't recall, Luthorcest, and 'Hey, Lex, let's pretend to be gay/married' fics.

1) Okay here goes nothing. I'm active in the BtVS/AtS fandom but have lurked in the SV fandom since season 1. Mostly because all my F-list was made up of people in the Jossverse.

I finally delurked when it was announced that JM was appearing on SV, and only then because others on my flist began to raise their hands and announce they'd been lurking too :)

Other than recently dipping my big toe in the SV pool I have mainly watched the fandom form afar while inhaling every single episode of the show.

2) I pretty much watch SV from the same perspective as BtVS/AtS, and rarely take notice of ship preference, I can see merit in almost all canon pairings and have had my own moments of awwwww but when it comes down to it nothing hits my spot more than Clark/Lex. I have no words to describe my opinion of Lex, well none that I can spell anyway, mostly it's guh! gah! and a whole lot of drool.

And I have a huge soft spot for Clark, like HUGE!

And Lionel OMFg!

3) Never much liked Jonathan, Pete, Whitney etc and I have to admit there are times I've wanted to slap both Lana and Chloe, although I have warmed a little to Chloe over season five.

4) When Smallville first aired in the UK I had no intention of watching it, I was a big Superman fan as a kid and didn't want anything to spoil my memories of the experience. Then I visited a fandom friend halfway through season 1, she forced me to watch a couple of episodes, I saw the dynamics between Lex and Clark, Clark's smile, Lex's... Lexness, and as soon as I arrived home I made up for lost time :)

6) I inhale Clex fanfic on a regular basis, and have recently, since coming out of the closet, began to write Clark/Lex fiction.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? Tom Welling---Ok, well I met him, promised to watch the show, but it was summer, and I just didn't. Then I happened to be at the Grove in LA when they premiered Exile on a big screen and all I saw was this amazing looking show, that could have easily been a movie, and that same beautiful man I saw in Rite Aid...the rest is history. Though I;ve liked Superman and what he represents since I was a kid.

5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Anything character driven and focusing on Clark, this past season, Hidden, Splinter and the 100th were my favorite eps, I loved Mortal too..in the past eps like Transference and Rosetta, Exile, Crusade, and Unsafe come to mind.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?: I don;t think I;ve ever re-read a fanfic, theres so much out there, and theres so much I still haven't read, except maybe the first one I ever read by Dana called 'As the Day the Night"

Random facts: I'm a self-proclaimed "foodie" and I miss all the wonderful restaurants and good food in NY, and when I go to Paris, all I ever think about is where I'm going to eat, thank goodness I'm more about quality than quantity, or my jeans wouldn't fit, lol.. I have two incredible cats, one is a bengal and is facinating since his behavior really resembles an actual leopard. 1. Tell us something about yourself: Turning 25 in June, college graduate in the process of moving to North Carolina. Started being active in fandoms through the Roswell fandom, wrote actively during season 1 SV, lurked for a bit and have been creating obsessively since late season 3. Smallville is probably one of my more active fandoms at the moment, along with Supernatural.

2. Likes: I'm a Chloe fan all the way; though I adore and love Lex and Clark, when he's not being the BDA. 1. Tell us something about yourself: I am in the midst of my second childhood. I think I was way too serious as a kid, and now that I'm 30, I'm finally acting immature. I just recently had part of my hair dyed bright orange, so now I look like a tiger: black hair with a big orange stripe across it. I also wear cutesy t-shirts with Care Bears, unicorns, and My Little Pony on them. I aim to make my life completely frivolous.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): I actually do not watch a lot of television, if given my druthers. The problem is, I'm usually sitting on the couch in front of the TV with my laptop, so I watch a lot of it by osmosis because I live with my sister, and she is a total television addict. Now that she's been away on business for the last couple of weeks, the TV has been silent, except for when I turn it on to watch DVDs of Gilbert and Sullivan musicals.

Fannishly, I'm pretty much only into Smallville, specifically Clex. I dabble in other fandoms occasionally to read, but I'm not active in them.

I'm a total concert junkie, I've met the guys from Linkin Park, Christopher Moore is my favourite author, and I love to read and write.

Halloween is the best day of the year, I have a bird named Allie who knows how to say, well, let's just say I apparently swear a lot at home... Vegetable Lo Mein is my favourite food, blue and green are my favourite colours and I while I hate pink I still wear it because apparently it's a "good colour" for me, my family has 3 dogs (Bonnie and Zoey are Shih Tzu's and Penny is a Bichon Poo), I have almost 200 movies/TV DVD's and book collection that far exceeds that. Ohmygoodness, too many comments already to read them all. (I'd like to, really, but there's also this work thing that kind of needs some attention...) But what a lovely idea. And as my name suggests, delurking is exactly what I need to do:

1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm 31. I can't believe I'm 31. Blue-state American. Married. Novelist. A big ol' lit-geek, and having ongoing problems reconciling my literary snobbery with my overwhelming love for Smallville.
2. Likes: Getting so immersed in a story that I forget where I am. Lex. Caviar. Peaches. (Not together -- ew.) Clex. Popping bubble-wrap. Swimming. Very hot baths. Being immersed in things, generally.
3. Dislikes: Current American politics (don't get me started). Hypocrisy. Cooked carrots. Running. Most of what passes for "fashion." (And for god's sake, would somebody please introduce Erica Durance to her waistline?)
4. What got you interested in Smallville? Well, believe it or not, my second novel (still in progress) centers on a character who some people believe is a new messiah. And this character, even as a child, knows that there's something different and very special about herself. So when I heard there was a tv show about a young Clark Kent, I felt like I had to watch it. And then I got completely sucked in, because I developed this fascination with Lex and his character arc, and how he'd develop from this cynical but hopeful sweet woobie into a supervillain. As for what drew me into SV fandom (since I'm not fannish about anything else) -- I think I was bored one night and surfed online until I found a story by Lenore. And then I read every single thing Lenore ever wrote in SV, because it was that good. And then I found Te, and Jenn, and Lanning, and then I had to admit I was addicted.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Shattered, Memoria, Onyx -- episodes that center on Lex make me happy. Also, Heat, because it just cracks me up.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? It's embarrassing to admit, but I've read Lanning's "Identical" series three times in the last 8 months. And that stuff is LONG -- it's a couple novels' worth of text. But it's SO GOOD. I reread "Sleep While I Drive" when I'm sad and want something sweet to cheer me up.
7. Random facts: Last fall, on a whim, my husband and I both dyed our pubic hair hot pink. It lasted a month or two and made me giggle every time I thought of it -- on a train, at the dentist, etc. We're thinking of doing it again. We're also thinking of maybe having a baby sometime not too far off. The two possibilities are unrelated.

1. Tell us something about yourself: I like shallow thrills and porn and avoid meta like the plague b/c seriously, it's all about the glee! (And, oh, I'm married with two kids and grew up on the beaches of California.
2. Likes: Hmmm...I have fandom ADD so I dabble in way too many fandoms. Amazing fic will get me involved in a fandom every single time. I love to read more than to watch tv. Adore celtic music (Enya! *g*) and fics that are porny and are just-this-side of sap.
3. Dislikes: Hmmm...Okay. I can't read any pairing in SV other than Clex. I just...can't. *g* Wank sucks and generally makes fandom not-so-fun. I don't like posts where people spend 5000 words (three times a day) telling me what kind of coffee they drank in the morning.

I used to be a nurse, Rehab, specializing in Orthopedics, until my lupus got so bad I just couldn't do it any more. 4. What got you interested in Smallville? I'm a huge comics fan, have been since I was a very little girl. I came to the show for that and then fell in love with Clark & Lex
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? I loved the whole 'Shattered' arc to pieces. Any of the Clark or Lex centric episodes, the Lana ones, not so much. She is and has always been a secondary character in the books and should stay that way.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Clex, I love Futurefics and AU's especially and stories that deal with the DCU somehow.
