Pimping, pimping

So I have been feeling uninspired in the posting department, lately, as you might have noticed, but there is lots of good stuff going out there in lj land that you should check out.

First of all, a story rec: [livejournal.com profile] sadiekate just posted what may be the HOTTEST piece of het porn I have ever read: I'm Not Shining Tonight , in which Chloe and Lex are trapped in the basement of the mansion, and have snarky banter followed by lots and lots of really hot sex.

Second, go answer [livejournal.com profile] treetracer's polls on reader feedback, which are here and here .

Third, you all know about [livejournal.com profile] theclexfactor's new community [livejournal.com profile] what_subtext, right? This is the place to discuss questions like whether Clark had a moral obligation to reveal his secret to anyone, or whether superheros are ever justified in sacrificing one life to save the lives of many others, or other fun meta-y questions like that.

Fourth: if you have been following all the debate that has transpired in the wake of the hate memes about big name fans (BNFs) and less known fans, etc., you might want to go to [livejournal.com profile] fabu's journal and weigh in on the question of "what it is that keeps people from speaking their minds, what consequences they fear (particularly from BNFs), and how they feel that BNFs exert control over fandoms." The relevant post is here , and she has links to some other lively discussions on this question as well. Or you might drop by the very interesting discussion going on in [livejournal.com profile] bop_radar's journal on the nature of BNFness here . And if you find that all these discussions have given you an interest in fandom sociology, [livejournal.com profile] metafandom is always an interesting read.

Good links! Argh that treetracer posted those polls after we posted the issue - now they'll be old by next issue :o)

Thanks! I don't know if treetracer's poll will be old, though--it looks like the whole feedback/responding to feedback thing is re-emerging, through fandom synchronicity. [livejournal.com profile] musesfool just posted something on that, though my laptop batter is dying so I can't track the link down for you right at the moment--it should be the entry at the top of the page, and she links to several people talking about this question, though fandom-wide, not just SV.

Thanks, found it!

Yay! I'm so behind on my f'list and really everything in the world ever that this makes things easier for me. YAY!

Glad to be helpful, sweetie.

Aww, thanks for the rec! That makes me all happy in my face.

You're welcome! I love that you're writing more Chlex, and indoctrinating your whole flist into the cult of MR (because that is a cult of which I am a proud member!)

Hee. The Rosenbaum has completely overtaken my livejournal. I mean, dude - one of my friends dropped thirty bucks on an out of print copy of "Rave Macbeth" due to my hardcore prostheltyizing. The only person who doesn't seem to be into it is [livejournal.com profile] spectralbovine who complaiend to me on the phone the other nigth that I talk abotu Rosenbaum too much.

(Mr. Burns voice) Excellent! (/Mr. Burns voice)

You know, I have several people on my flist who are also big Rosenfans who often post picspam and Rosenbaum love stuff who you might be interested in friending (though my flist is more skewed to Clex than Chlex). [livejournal.com profile] mskatej often posts lots of SV-centered picspams, as does [livejournal.com profile] herohunter, and [livejournal.com profile] acampbell has been systematically screencapping every episode of SV starting with season 1. And probably many other folks as well who I am forgetting.

Sweet! I'll poke around. Thanks for being sort of my goodwill ambassador to this fandom, as well.
