A couple quick things

First, happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] mskatej! I unlocked your present, so for anyone who wants to see it, it is here .

Second, I'm still working my way through the Clexfest stories, and I want to recommend another one: kendermouse's Family . It's an amazingly sweet Clark/Lex AU, in which Clark finds a half-naked Lex freezing to death by the side of the road and takes him in. I love the alternate Smallville world she's created in this so much; it's much more the Norman Rockwell smalltown than the Lovecraftian one we get on the show, and it really hits my kink for stories where Jonathan is a good dad rather than a jerk.
ext_2583: "Lady Agnew" by John Singer Sargent (Lex wrapped his hand around... OH!)

Thanks for the rec: I haven't really paid attention to Clexfest or Clexy slash lately, but maybe I'll start again. (Thanks for the inspiration)

However, I prefer stories where Jonathan is a jerk, and then Lex & Clark ignore him and go on to live happily ever after. Maybe that's because I find the Jonathan of the show so insufferable that I am unable to let it go or actually believe any AU, where Jonathan is not a jerk; and my frustration with show-Jonathan has to air somehow. Or maybe I'm just weird. Got recs?

Do you want recs were Jonathan *is* a jerk? Or is not? I wasn't clear.

Jonathan -jerk, meeting smackdown.

Hmmm. I'm afraid since I personally avoid stories like that, I don't have any recommendations off the top of my head.

That's OK, I knew it was a long shot. Besides, I can make do with the Jonathan as a nice guy -stories, as long as C&L are there.

Oh, actually I was just hitting the random story function on SSA and came across one: http://www.smallville.slashdom.net/archive/16/noobstacle.html, by Bren Antrim. And it seems to me, actually, that several of her stories have the same theme.

i read that story just last night and enjoyed it. i like seeing the kents act like parents to lex instead of creeps.

Yes, exactly. And it's also nice to see the Smallville residents protecting the mutants rather than persecuting them.
