i like snape with just about anyone too. i started out reading mostly harry/snape, but got to liking lupin more and more, and the "snupin" pairing can work wonderfully.

oddly, the most successful LOTR pairing i ran across was gimli/legolas, maybe because their unlikely friendship was canon.

btw, i finished the X-Files story, had forgotten how sad it is! now i'll read Grope of Destiny to feel cheerful again. (cuervo gold, boo hoo. *g*)
