Heroes

Oh Heroes, you are MADE OF AWESOME.

Even in an episode where we spend most of the time with the plotlines I am least interested in (Matt's, Mohinder's and Isaac's) I was completely captivated. How fun that Mohinder is being haunted/communicated with by his dead sister! And I actually felt bad for Isaac, having to shoot up right after he just detoxed. Not to mention I didn't want to strangle Eden ONCE during this episode! And I even felt bad for Matt, rather than just being bored by the whole adultery subplot--his interactions with radioactive!man were compelling, especially when they compared the marks on their neck. I *love* how we're finally finding things out!

Of course, as soon as we saw Sylar stalking Memory!Girl, I knew she was toast, which is really a pity since she was pretty damn cute with Hiro. (And was Ando a little jealous? Or just mad that he had to eat the weight watcher's lunch?) But I guess the real question is, in trying to save her will he endanger the whole world? Or just himself? I don't know what theory of time they're using in the show: is he safe because we've seen his English-speaking future self, or could that be an alternate time-loop that is now foreclosed? At any rate, I'm very worried about him, though maybe it is Ando I should be worried about? I suspect if he *is* able to save memory!girl, though, there's going to be some sort of cosmic price to be paid, and I just hope Hiro and Ando aren't the ones paying it. (They could sacrifice Eden or Peter, I wouldn't mind).

And yay! Confirmation that Mr. Bennett is not entirely evil! He's not entirely good, either, which is fine with me, but I'm so glad he's not a mustache-twirling villain. And this project has been going on for 16 years--very interesting. So is the project actually *activating* people's powers, or helping them control them? Or both?

Damn, I love this show.

I thought the same thing. I was worried that with an episode focused on Mohinder and Isaac's stories, I'd be a bit bored, but I really enjoyed this. I like Matt a lot, so I wasn't worried about his presence, I was glad.

Was that Mohinder's dead sister that kept coming to him in his dreams? I thought it was a little boy. *confused* Was the name on the file his sister's name? I'll have to rewatch that I guess.

Eden... meh. I'm really not a fan of her acting, it was actually driving me nuts. They can kill her off and I'd be fine. Although, now they've established her as a having a power as well.. The power to persuade? I need that power.. and about an hour alone in a room with Tom Welling. *evilgrins*

I wonder if Hiro is delayed from returning because he's in an alternate timeline with memory!girl. I wouldn't be surprised if they become a couple on the show. This show could get very complicated very fast if they play around too much with the althernate timelines.

Mr. Bennett's paternal concern was very touching.. but do you think it bordered into creepy territory just a leetle bit? I wasn't sure how to read that whole thing. He is trying to save Claire, but I still think they left his motivations and intentions ambiguous.

I didn't think it was Mohinder's sister because Mama Mo said his sister died at age 5, and that kid was clearly close to teen age.

Also, I was unclear if the dream ghost was male or female.

Yeah, maybe it was supposed to be young Mohinder? You're right that the kid looked older than 5.

Well, I'm not sure if that was Mohinder's sister, or his child self, or what, honestly. I agree with what [Unknown site tag] said below, the kid does look older than 5, so maybe it's not his sister, and the child did look more male than female, but I thought maybe that was just bad casting while I was watching. I have to rewatch and see what I think.

I agree that Mr. Bennett's paternal concern had an element of creepiness--in fact, I wonder how much he was just trying to play Isaac, there--but I think at the very least we know he's not *the* villain, which I like.

I do like Matt, but mainly I like him when he's being an investigator; the whole subplot with his wife is boring me.

Just checked - the name on the file was, "SANJOG, Iyer."
So, not his sister (who I think the mom said was named "Shanti," or something like that. You know, at first, I thought it was Mohinder's child-self as well, but it seems that it's someone his father was studying because of some sort of dream!power. At least that's what the articles in the file seem to hint about.

Are you sure it was Sanjog Iyer and not Sanjog Iler? Because someone in [livejournal.com profile] moonlitpines's journal just pointed out that that abbreviates to S.Iler, or Siler/Sylar. Which would just be **flails**!

[identity profile] serenography.livejournal.com 2006-11-14 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay.. I just *ran* back into the other room to watch again and make sure. It definitely is, "SANJOG, Iyer." But that would have been way cool.
I guess there still could be a link. Perhaps the boy is a dream-like manifestation of a young Sylar trying to get Mohinder to help prevent him from becoming what he becomes. On second thought, scratch that - I think it's reaching. I don't think the kid was malevolent, I think he was trying to help Mohinder and get him to go back and continue investigating his father's research.

Thanks for checking!! Well, that was a cool theory for five minutes. (Which seems to be the lifespan of a lot of my Heroes theories).
