the state of me

Work is seriously kicking my ass these days, to the point that I'm actually feeling oppressed by the advent of the new TV season, because there are a ton of shows I want to watch and no time to watch them. I actually got up at 5 this morning to watch Heroes (after getting home at 11 last night), but that is not going to be possible all the time, so I may be avoiding the f-list periodically due to a fear of spoilers of all the shows I will be taping and watching on the weekends, and also because I just have less time to check it.

Shows I am regularly taping, at least for the time being: Heroes, Reaper, Bionic Woman, Smallville, Supernatural, Gray's Anatomy, Blood Ties, and possibly also that other vampire cop show that's going to be on Fridays. Of these, the only one I'm going to be likely to watch on its actual night is Smallville, and that's mainly so I can more or less keep up with review collection for [livejournal.com profile] eat_crow.

But I will probably be commenting a lot less and posting a lot less, at least for the next few months until things at work settle down.

Since I am all about the Bennetts on this show, I was overjoyed to see (a) they're all still alive and (b) Claire and Noah are having a hard time adjusting to being normal. Oh, man, Noah's boss completely cracked me up, though I really don't see how Noah wasn't fired after that stunt. And I love that Noah is working with Mohinder to bring down the Company from the inside.

I also am really tickled by Hiro's plot. I can't decide if he's going to be teaching Sark Kensei to be a hero or if he's actually going to be playing Kensei's role (my guess is the latter), but since "reluctant hero" is one of my favorite archetypes, I'm looking forward to this plotline.

I wasn't as interested in the other storylines, except that I'm amused that the producers decided that Mohinder/Sylar was too popular of a slash pairing, so they're trying to get us to substitute Mohinder/Matt, yet they clearly don't mind the incesty subtext, since in addition to ramping up the Nathan/Peter angst (and throwing the Claire/Peter folks a bone as well), now we also have Maya/Alejandro as a potential incesty pairing. I mean, if she's not in his presence she ends up inadvertantly killing people? So basically, they're tied at the hip for eternity? Yeah, that's not going to encourage the incest fic AT ALL.

omg, I was totally going to do that this morning. IN fact, that's probably my plan for most of the season, seeing as I work Tue nights waiting tables and have darts on Wed.

Of course, I went out last night and got trashed so I had to sleep it off this morning—alas, no Heroes.

I'm not looking at your last paragraph. I just wanted to be excited that I'm not the only person who considered getting up early to watch it, heh.

Hee! I could have waited until Tuesday night, but I wanted to be able to read my f-list.

Oh my, yes, Maya/Alejandro--it's almost as if they were jealous of SpN. ("If one incesty couple is good, let's throw in two--no, three!")
I agree with you about Hiro, and even though it is kind of cliche, I like the idea. It's so comic book! :)

Yay Hiro! (I'm not sure if I really want to say "Yay incest!" but it really does seem to be where they're going with it.)

I'm in the same position, hon. *hugs* It's terrible to feel oppressed by television! LOL. I hope it improves for both of us soon.
