brief update and rec

*Crawls out of cave, peers blinkingly into the sun*

Hey everybody! I did finally get my power back after six days, but then work slammed into me hard, so I've mostly been skimming my flist and the next two weeks I probably won't be around too much, if at all. But as I was skimming today I saw that [livejournal.com profile] rivkat had posted a new story, and I got sucked in staying up way past my bedtime reading the most perfect crossover in the history of EVER, Under Darkening Skies, which is a Buffy/Supernatural crossover, in which the the government traps Sam and Dean into going undercover to take out a dangerous witch and a demon-influenced girl. It's hilarious and heartbreaking and one of the best meshing of universes I've ever seen, and I loved all the character voices so much in this story I never wanted it to end.

Aww, I'd totally read well-written Dean/Willow, *is suddenly all psyched at the idea*!! I'm just not that into Faith as a character, and wouldn't want to read her with Dean. But, awww, Dean/Willow!! (It's probably not even geeky!Willow/your-icon!Dean, but in my head right now it is, hee.)

Actually, it is kind of geeky!Willow/Dean. I absolutely love the Willow in this story; it reminded me of how much I used to absolutely adore her. (I am not someone who thinks s6 of Buffy ruined the show, but it did tarnish my Willow love a bit). And thinking about it, Dean/Willow works on another level for me, because there are so many similarities between Willow and Sam, and I can definitely see Dean being drawn to that.

But like I said, the main focus of the story isn't romance at all, just so you're not going into it with false expectations.

Aw, yay.

I'll keep my romantic expectations down - have started reading and am very intrigued so far :o) !!

Damn, couldn't finish it: Dean leading the dumb slayettes, who obviously can't lead their dumb selves, was a disappointment and a turn-off :o(
