Dreamwidth?

So I've been playing around with the idea of buying a seed account at Dreamwidth when they go up for sale on April 30, since apparently this is the only time ever they will be selling permanent accounts, but the fact that only a few people on my f-list seem to even know about the project makes me question whether it's worth shelling out that much money. So: a poll.

[Poll #1375329]

For those of you who checked the last radio button, here are some good resources to read about the project:
Links to a bunch of posts explaining why this project was undertaken--see especially this one , in which [livejournal.com profile] synechdochic explains why she undertook this project; Dreamwidth's wiki page; a post explaining how Dreamwidth is different than other fan-run journaling sites ; a post by [livejournal.com profile] cathexys about why dreamwidth is right for her ; and a post by [livejournal.com profile] zvi_likes_tv about getting started on Dreamwidth , for those lucky enough to have closed beta accounts.

Wow, I didn't expect the Dreamwidth owners to be bopping around answering questions!

I actually am not unhappy with LJ at the moment, though I do wonder if that could suddenly change yet again. I like the philosophy behind dreamwidth, and a few people I like a lot are permanently migrating there, but I think fandom as a whole is pretty lazy and settled in its ways unless deliberately prodded. I'm going to buy a paid account to support the site, but I suspect unless something happens I'll use it about as much as I use my IJ account, which is about once every 3 months.
