Smallville, Isis
Despite the fact that the main plot was incredibly awful, there were several things I liked about this ep:
1. I liked seeing Oliver and Clark working together again. And even more than that, I found myself absolutely LOVING that they worked with Tess. Like Clark, I'm not sure she's 100% trustworthy, but I love that they're giving her the chance, and that it obviously means a lot to her that they trust her.
2. Tess in general rocked in this episode--that final scene with Alexander really made me cry, OMG. I thought it was great, too, that she actually took Cat's motherhood advice about the Peter Pan, and the bit she read was so poignantly apropos. I also really loved how hilarious she found Cat's suggestion that Lois was the Blur.
3.Cat Grant continues to charm the hell out of me. I mean, obviously I oppose her agenda but she's so damn cute I just end up wanting to squish her rather than be angry with her. I love her tenacity and her commitment to her (albeit misguided) principles. In some ways she reminds me of early-seasons Chloe, especially her persistence and her willingness to come up with crazy theories that are almost, but not quite, on the mark. And she is pretty perceptive about some things, like figuring out that Tess was a worried mother (even if Tess isn't admitting it yet).
And I know it is wrong of me, but I laughed and laughed when she stabbed Lois in the hand to attempt to prove she was the Blur.
4. Barring the whole dopey Isis thing, the opening and closing scenes with Lois and Clark rehearsing what they would say, and then finally having the conversation, were COMPLETELY happymaking. Especially when she jumped him. *Happy sigh*

no subject
I probably will start disliking Cat if she remains as a regularly and continues her unnanced hero-hate, but something about that actress makes it impossible for me to dislike her.
Like you, I am EXTREMELY glad they didn't drag the secret reveal out longer. Thank goodness!
