Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

with clark wearing his hair shaggy and looking exceedingly sensuous.

I absolutely adore him with that unkempt look as well. It's crime when they cut his hair really short.

But why? *cries*

It's so awesome you pimped the MOST IMPORTANT POLL EVER. Which is actually being a wee bit neglected right now, because I'm all wrapped up in the party!

I've had a lot of fun getting to know you lately. I'm so glad I friended you! :)

Oh, yeah... I love Al Pacino in Goodfather, too

Awwww!!! *huggles* Right back at ya, little k!

I'd just have a house in every interesting country
And an excellent solution that would be!

Good to meet you!

[identity profile] teot.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, I've seen some of your work. You're an awesome artist and icon - er, maker. *g*

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know why you should be embarassed--it's interesting to find out these things. And there seem to be quite a number of people here today who took a lot of persuading to get into SV!

And I agree, the cinematography on this show is one of its best features. Even though the writing sometimes drives me nuts, *visually* it is always wonderful. And I think I've been a little spoiled by that. For example, I tried to watch SGA because everyone's always going on and on about how slashy it is and how the writing is better than SV, and that all may be true, but compared to SV it is just so *boring*, visually. I think I have been spoiled!

Don't get me started!

For me, he's THE sexy. Perfect, just perfect *wishfull sigh*

Awww... don't cry! I'm sure we'll have lots of other things in common! Like, um, PORN! Yes, the love of porn will heal all wounds. *nods*

Re: Part Two

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
You don't have to read (or reread) fanfic because you *write* it. That's really enough!

[identity profile] nehellania.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
1. Me: I'm um...me. 23 years old, Canadian, snarky, happy, and very chatty. I'm very multi-fandom and I love gay porn. (but really, who doesn't?)

2. Likes Organization(seriously), Clex, Erica Durance, SGA, shoes, SG-1, Veronica Mars, Bleach, Locko, Veronica/Weevil, orange pop, Sirius/Remus, Buffy, rice, House, lip gloss, Farscape, Alias, Lost, chocolate, Jawyer..this list could get very long so I'll stop now.

3. Dislikes Lana Lang. Clana. Lexana. Boys. Emo people. Sticky bathrooms. Asparagus. Self-absorption.

4. What got you interested in Smallville? The commercials just before the pilot, of Lex and Clark with Lex's toy soldiers. One eyefucking scene was all it took.

5. favorite SV episodes? Heat, Aqua, Prodigal, Shattered, Asylum.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? A Life More Ordinary (http://smallville.slashdom.com/archive/21/alife.html) by [livejournal.com profile] seperis

7. Random facts I have an ongoing project to undermine the annoying boy across the hall's control of his dog. He calls the dog Spirit. I call it Dog. Dog now looks very confused when someone calls him Spirit. Also I just dyed my hair and it is very red. I look even more sassy than usual! Yay me! Last but not least, I share my brain with [livejournal.com profile] tehjules. We say things at the same time and always come to the same conclusions. It's freaky, really. Locko forever!

Really? Wow. Well, there was a *lot* to like about S5.

Oh god it's your creepy stalker icon! I might have calmed down, but your icon has scared me off.

I said, it's everything about the porn

Now I want to see S1 again! But then again, there was a lot that I hated, too. (meteor mutants)

Your icon cracked me up.

October 3rd is my birthday. And that makes it the best day of the year. It's also the day of German reunification, so someday I need to be in Germany for my birthday which would then be a national holiday with parades and stuff.

Every once in a while I lose a ring or have one break. It's sad. I have one made of all hemetite. It's actually my third hemetite ring. The first broke after a few weeks when I slapped my hand against a wall for emphasis on something I was saying. The second broke after a few days when it slipped off when I shook my wet hands after washing them. This one has lasted for years through much abuse. Such is life, huh?

Aww, sad. I like the clicking noise all the metal makes when I clap my hands right.

Look at Tommy, though. See how friendly-like he is? He only wants to play!

I used to devour whole sections of the library growing up.

I can relate. I did (and still do) exactly the same thing!

*G* You're not alone, I didn't want to watch SV either. I saw the previews--the ones where they didn't even show you anything, just said it was superman as a teenager--and knew I could easily become addicted because I thought it was a cool idea, but I had far too much going on in my life to get addicted. And before I even got to the point of it is a horrible, flailing feeling. Like... if you were pregnant, and at seven months, and all of a sudden, you woke up and it wasn't there.--which is desperately horrible--I was flipping channels and saw Lex, and I was completely hooked.

Also, I'm out as a slasher to friends and family, and a couple of co-workers, but I have to know someone a couple of months before I ease myself into that conversation. Unlike my old roommate who used to tell random people that I wrote gay porn before introducing me. *facepalm*

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, me too! I'm not sure I'll ever get through it. On LJ, I spend most of my time commenting or posting, so it's hard to get the reading time. And I'm an obsessive book reader, so again, that competes with fanfic reading time.
It boggles the mind how much is out there, and how much of it is really good!
It definitely inspired me to start writing. This is random, I'm re-reading 'Atlas Shrugged" and I just found out Brad Pitt is in talks to star in a film adaption. I love Bradley, but I'm not sure he's John Galt. (if no one has read this book, I highly recommend it, for the style of writing alone)

I met Michael Rosenbaum and didn't realize it until I'd been watching SV for 3 months - Oh, do tell!
LOL, I think I answered it somewhere in here, but I met him on the set of Sorority Boys, and I'd never seen Smallville, so when the AD told me Smallville's Lex Luthor was in the movie all I thought was "who?" and I thought they'd mad Lex a high school bully or something on the show(!)...but when I was watching an ep 3 months into Season 3, it suddenly dawned on me that the funny, very wacky (in a dry way) person I talked to wearing a weird red wig and fake boobs during that summer was none other than Lex! I had completely forgotten about visiting the set..LOL..I laughed for like 5 minutes.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
recently, Michael got a manip of Han Solo I made of him and he loved it; said he's going to hang it up in his office (didn't say it to me, nor to my friend who handed it to him, to someone else) and I'm still SO happy that I put a smile on his face in a day that he was feeling so bad
Oh, Ash, I missed that news! That's totally brilliant. How wonderful. I'm so glad for you! (And of COURSE he would love it!)

Psst--I've missed you, and I must catch up on your LJ!

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
I can't even believe this 3-page thing. I didn't even know this many people knew my journal *existed*. (Though lots of great people have been pimping this, I know). I have dial-up at home, and even though I am off work today I had to come into the office and reply to comments and deal with my email, because everything was loading SO slowly for me, so you have my sympathies!

So, have you read any good meta lately?

Oh laugh attacks, how much fun you are!
