Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

1. Tell us something about yourself: Well, I'm 47 years old and have been married to an amazing guy named Lee for many, many years. I used to be a nurse, Rehab, specializing in Orthopedics, until my lupus got so bad I just couldn't do it any more. I still miss the heck out of it, I loved being a nurse and getting to make a difference in people's life. My family means everything to me. That includes the family I've found since I've been on lj.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): I love to read, most anything. I used to devour whole sections of the library growing up. Books were definitely my friends, they still are. I write a little and do artwork. It used to be pencil, watercolors, pen & ink. Now, with my hands more comprimised it tends to be more digital artwork. I've loved learning my way around using Photoshop
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) : Self-centered, rude, inconsiderate people. I truly believe that what you put out in the world comes back to you. Fandoms I love are Smallville, Supernatural, Harry Potter, Due South, the Sentinel, Starsky & Hutch, SG-1 & SGA & Battlestar Glactica
4. What got you interested in Smallville? I'm a huge comics fan, have been since I was a very little girl. I came to the show for that and then fell in love with Clark & Lex
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? I loved the whole 'Shattered' arc to pieces. Any of the Clark or Lex centric episodes, the Lana ones, not so much. She is and has always been a secondary character in the books and should stay that way.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Clex, I love Futurefics and AU's especially and stories that deal with the DCU somehow.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.) My favorite food is watermelon, favorite colors are earth tones. My cat's name is Kira, she's a long-haired furball who I love. I mostly wear my tennis shoes unless forced. If I could live anywhere it would probably be either San Francisco or Flagstaff Colorada, both places are amazing!

Forgive me if you'd rather not discuss it here, but my mother was just diagnosed with Lupus, and I dont know that much about the disease, so if you ever have time, and feel comfortable, I'd love as you a bizillion questions:)

I'm glad we share a love of books and HP, and of course Clex and SV:)

Your art is so amazing--I don't think I ever got around to telling you that on art feedback day.

Oh, and San Francisco is totally the city I would live in if I could afford to!

Aww, sweetie, thank you. I really enjoy doing it, it's a way I can try and give back to all of the neat people I've met here. And, you are most definitely one of them. :)

I'm really glad to have the chance to get to know you better, I'm hoping that at some point things settle down for me to be more active again. I can sure keep hoping for it to any way.

*hugs*

I feel the same way, stuff like this really helps us, doesn't it?

And, yep, I've always been a book worm and proud of it. It was one of the things I really enjoyed teaching my niece, Amber, about. :)

Yes, it's very interesting to read everyone's responses and boggle at how alike and yet how amazingly different we all are!

I think it would be wonderful to share books with a child. I remember the magic they held for me and I treasure my childhood library. I love reading aloud too, and read HP to my very tolearnt boy, though there's not much else he'll let me read to him...

I used to devour whole sections of the library growing up.

I can relate. I did (and still do) exactly the same thing!
