Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

AWWWW. that's so cute and true to life. You should rename them.

You know, skimming I thought I saw the word "woebesity". Woebesity! That's what Lana suffers from.

That's so adorable! Hee, Clex kitties.

I rarely wear socks or shoes, *especially* if i'm going in the garden, I love the feel of grass on my feet, it's awesomeness.

If i'm wearing shoes though - i'm wearing socks. It's all or nothing *g*

My friend Aly is a skinny little asian girl and she wears them and I still think that normal jeans look better on her. But yes, she probably suits them more than anyone else I know.

Definitely have to wear socks with shoes. But as soon as I get home, both come off. My toes like freedom!

We had such fun. Oh, and I finally got around to reading your latest SV ep reviews last night, and YAY. It's so good to have you back.

Oh I forgot about Perry! That's definitely one of my all time favourite episodes.

[identity profile] myownghost.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm not really a lurker, just sort of shy. (someone in my personal LJ once called me a gregarious recluse, which fits better than anything.)

1. Tell us something about yourself: i'm older than anyone else here, promise. my husband has a terminal illness. i write poetry and never watch tv. italian was my major in college, and i love more than anything reading it aloud when i see it on menus or wine bottles.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): i flipped for michael rosenbaum when my friend [livejournal.com profile] aquandrian started using MR icons from the film Rave Macbeth. he makes me wish i were 30 years younger and in the right place, if you know what i mean. i enjoyed the smallville eps i've seen so far, but i'm in the fandom for the fiction. it's Clex all the way, for me.
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): i don't like lana, never have, especially when paired with clark. lionel is evil, but very well played, so i can tolerate him. i'm socially avoidant but having to overcome it, with difficulty.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? my friend aquandrian gave me some links to SV fics, after i started getting into her rosenbaum fannishness, and that was that. goodbye, harry potter.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? haven't seen many, but i really liked Exile, with clark wearing his hair shaggy and looking exceedingly sensuous.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? uhh. right now, i'm rereading Rageprufrock's conner series, because i love conner and geoffrey (and even terry) with weird passion. henry jones jr.'s Infinite Possibilities. CM Decarnin's "truth, justice, etc." series. too many to go on about, really.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.) my cat's name is zack, he's fat and has only one ear, and he's a good little friend. i tend to have one pair of shoes that lasts for years. if i had lex's money, i'd have a villa outside Rome, penthouse apartments in Paris and Copenhagen, and a summer home on lake monroe, near bloomington, indiana. (that'd make me john mellencamp's neighbor, for better or for worse. *g*) i have two sons, ages 15 and 25.

Ooh, Connor and Geoffrey! I never finished reading that, I really should go back.

Multiple houses, that's a good idea. If I had enough money, I'd never stay in one place for long.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm 28, an editor, an Australian (Melbourne) and an SV fan (duh!)
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Smallville, Clex/Clois/Lexana, MR and TW (of course!) Battlestar Galactica, House, BtVS, AtS and many a show before then... I have loved fannish shows for a long time without being in fandom. It was SV that broke me--less than a year ago (wow!? has it only been a year?), when I took a week off work to *ahem* watch all four seasons then in existence. Other likes: food, good-quality chocolate, books, films, martial arts, dogs (and other animals), history (my major at uni), pastries with raspberries in them. Oh. And Johnny Depp. *g*
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) : I really don't dislike any characters--I'm too intrigued by the construction of SV to dislike *anyone*, though I had my Lana-hating days... I hate few things but among them are DH Lawrence, the movie 'signs', crap doctors, negativity in fandom, my timezone and prejudiced behaviour anywhere.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? What?! *chortles* [livejournal.com profile] supacat
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Shattered and Asylum, but I also love Heat and Red and Reckoning and Devoted and ... oh so many!
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? Not much of a fanfic rereader, but I reread [livejournal.com profile] rivkat's humourous fics when I need cheering--Hideaway, and An Englishman... and Switch.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.) Favourite colour is yellow, my cat is named after the (rather slashy) twin brother Corin from CSLewis's The Horse and his Boy, my first word was 'book', one day I want to own a Bernese mountain dog, I'm a lapsed first dan in tae-kwon do, having turned to belly dancing instead, I'm currently crawling through the Mahabharata with my friend [livejournal.com profile] supacat (you can track our progress here: [livejournal.com profile] mahabarata) and I NEVER get enough time on LJ to do half the things I want to!

Hee, your dog sounds cute. My cat likes to chew on the pillow right next to my ear when I'm trying to sleep :P

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Whee! Yay. Thank you! It's good to be back, but I haven't really found my feet again yet (or rather, I haven't had enough time online yet!) and that ep review is still half finished... *lol*

goodbye, harry potter.

Haha! DAMN STRAIGHT. I dabbled in HP fandom (as a reader) for a while and then I discovered Clex. And they just blew everything else out of the water. There is simply no other pairing in any other fandom EVER that compares to the erotic potential of Clex.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but dude, you MET CLARK! *points at icon*

[identity profile] myownghost.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
the ending is lovely. i adore lex as a father, probably more than is healthy. *g*

just in case you don't have her URL (not likely, but possible): Glitterati. the final chapter's there, but not in her LJ.

oh yeah, wouldn't it be great to hop from beautiful house to beautiful house? if only we did have vast fortunes!

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Anne Rice screwed them over *so bad*. *boggles* But yeah, Louis and Lestat... fond memories!

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Switzerland??! Wow! I didn't know this. This is exciting! There will be alps and cow bells and things!

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
He was boring! Plus I didn't like his hair.

I liked him more in season 5 when he cut his hair, and started getting a personality. Even if it was a whiny one.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
And we're very glad you did :D

It's just the first few years of your 20's, you're allowed to be an aimless screw-up. But at 24 *sigh*

[identity profile] myownghost.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
i've read a lot of HP fiction, mostly snarry and so-called snupin (snape/lupin). i got into the fandom because of the hotness of rickman, but it wasn't long until david thewlis revved my engine up REAL high. ;)

but you're so right about Clex's erotic potential. i've never read any other pairing that had so many possibilities. i like lex as top, lex as bottom, lex in drag, lex as damaged victim of abuse, just about any way at all; and there's always a way to tailor clark precisely to him. (i like AU best, really.)
