Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

Yes, it's definitely reassuring! Thankfully I've long shared 'low brow' interests AND literary snobbery with my RL friend [livejournal.com profile] supacat, who introduced me to SV. Even so, Smallville was a new level of challenge to the snob in me! I like your reward system method! I should try that... ;)

And are you really reading Tolstoy? I've heard Anna Karenina's a good place to start. Personally War and Peace has defeated me five times already! However, I recently discovered that Dostoyevsky is not nearly as hard a read as I thought.

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! Yeah, maybe it's you! *g*

Adam! I loved him. I was so pissed when he got zombied. I thought they were really sparky and great together. And I'm loving the Lexana--apart from a couple of moments, I've really enjoyed Lana all season. And going back over old seasons, I've been waaay more interested in her story arcs as a consequence. This pleases me, as the more characters I like, the better I enjoy the show!

[identity profile] bop-radar.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I had actually started S1 previously--seen most of it. So it was 3.2 or so seasons in a week. But yeah... *laughs manically* SV dreams for a week? Yes, and for waaay longer than that. It totally colonised my mind. I daydreamed it for weeks after too... and turned to LJ as an outlet! *g*

Also, it depends on the shade of pink. I'm not wild keen on the pretty, pretty really pale shades, but the stronger, darker shades are nice.

And now I'm trying to imagine Lex in pink for some reason... *shakes head* That's just wrong.

Well, my liking of purple pre-dates my liking of Lex, but I wonder if there is a statistical connection overall. It would be fun to do a poll and find out!

Your post brought a smile to my face. I don't know how to thank you enough for such a lovely compliment. :)

My family and I moved out here to Virginia from southern California 5 years ago. Back there, we used to live within walking distance to the beach. It was a haven that I thought was irreplaceable. And yet, here I am 5 years later thanking my lucky stars to be close to this woodsy nature park. I guess I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to live nearby two incredible places.

[identity profile] rumpuso.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
As I mentioned to you in another post, thank YOU for organizing this wonderful event. It came at a time where I felt invisible and I certainly appreciate these touches from friends to tell me otherwise.

[identity profile] rumpuso.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
You know what? *I* love my taste in men too!! Tall, dark and OMG. A perfect trio in a man.

Seriously though Rene, thank you for taking a minute to stop here. I'm being pulled in so many directions at once lately that I feel a little lost and disconnected. Yet, when you showed up, it grounded me...my friend. Thank you!

This is my second dog that I've owned in my entire life. The last one we had was an Austrailian Silky Terrier. Gorgeous dog, and very much our first "child". Charlie, our second dog, has weedled himself into our hearts in record timing! I appreciate dogs now for many reasons, one of which is getting me outside to walk three times a day whereas normally my lazy butt would be sitting inside getting quite large. I need an "excuse" to get out of the house, more often than not, and because of my Charlie, I now have seen so many lovely things in our natural park behind our house that otherwise may have gone unnoticed. Animals really hold people together sometimes.

[identity profile] carolandtom.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

Yes, I wonder if Tom is fully aware of that. And of course, there's never enough of him!

Yes! In pancakes or pastries and such it's fine, but as soon as I can identify it as egg, I can't eat it. Blech, eggs!

[identity profile] blisstasteful.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
thankyou! and here hoping for a fab year *crosses fingers*

[identity profile] carolandtom.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
My birthday is on September 22. I knew we had something else in common, apart from Tom, Clex, Beatles and the rest!

[identity profile] carolandtom.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
It's great to know more about you!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
When is it not about the porn? *g*

Hello, BTW. I'm friending you if it's OK.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:33 am (UTC)(link)
TPTB certainly don't make her seem that sympathetic. I get extremely irritated every time she opens her mouth.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm also busy coming up with creative healthy snacks

Oh, please share your results. I could use some tasty but healthy snacks, like all the time. *g*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Nice to meet you too! Friending is fine! I'll friend you back.

And I never, ever talk to my TV either. Nope. Not at all.

[identity profile] carolandtom.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
I can see you are an artist!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_sail_/ 2006-05-27 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
All my friends and co-workers think the egg hating is the weirdest thing ever, and never pass up an oppertunity to mock me for it. Fortunately, my boyfriend also detestes eggs, or we would have had much more problems in the kitchen. We egg haters should stick together! *nods*

[identity profile] stir-of-echoes.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Leather coat 'doom!

This kneeling thing has its advantages.

*avoids the laser beam eyes*

Nice to meet you too. Thanks for getting this party started!

You're not missing much having not seen The Fog. The only good thing I can say about it is that Tom looks very pretty in it. He does scruffy very well.

[identity profile] cadencecascade.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
