Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

Hot pink pubes is all it takes?

No doubt it's childish of me, but I've always found amusement in having "I know something you don't know" thoughts when dealing with people who bore me or annoy me or whatever. And somehow, that just trumped every other "I know something you don't" thought I've ever had.

It's the little things, y'know?

[identity profile] slinkling.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and I'd also meant to say, thanks.

Yay! party! I'm so glad I decided to wait till tomorrow to travel up for my seminar day!

You forgot the word 'super' hon, I've never known anyone describe themselves as being 'super' quite as much as you.
And quite rightly too, cos you are y'know

We lived very near the border of Tennessee, and so we'd go up there to buy fireworks for 4th of July and stuff. You couldn't get them in NC (it was a dry county, too), but head on up the Blue Ridge Parkway to the top of the mountain, and just 10 feet over the border was a little shack selling fireworks.

Damn. RL is invading, but I want to hang out! I will come back later and party! First, though....

1. I'm 35 (almost, anyway) and live in the midwest. I'm a cake decorator by complete accident, but I love it passionately. I wrote a "book" when I was in junior high about a boy I went to school with, and how our love was OMG MENT2B4EVA. I showed the book to friends, he found out about it... it was all very horrible then, but now amuses me greatly.

2. I love Smallville to death. All of the bad things as well as the good things. I totally dove in to the shallow end of the pool, and I'm having a blast. Clex is the best thing ever, and I love Tom Welling with every breath in body. I also love exaggerating, AWESOME, and YAY! And flirting shamelessly with my flist!

3. Clana. *stabs* Also, people who are mean, not feeling in control of any given situation, and saying hi to someone and having them ignore me.

4. James Marsters, actually. But I decided to watch some of SV before season 5 started and at first, I was just mildly interested. But then I saw Transference (Tom's chest, baby!) and became obsessed. And then it was all downhill from there.

5. Red, Transference, Exile, ummmm, so many. SV makes me so happy.

6. Changes all the time, really. But I go back a lot to anything by Jenn or Te or runpunkpun.

7. I really am a very giggly person. I don't know how or why, but some time of the past several years, life started to make me laugh and I've never stopped laughing. Also, LJ is my playground and I love it madly!

[identity profile] blisstasteful.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Te's stories where the first I found on my very first wanderings into sv fics, her standalones got me completely and utterly hooked!
And I don't think anyone can drink or smoke to much (aside from the medical argument against it, but pah to such logical and responsible attitudes. Pah!)

It's funny the jewellery people wear. I hate bracelets, for example, and wristwatchs. Can't stand the feeling. Hate having to get wristbands for clubs or amusement parks or anything, and especially if it's on my right wrist. But if I leave the house without my rings I feel naked, unless I'm swimming or something.

Oh, Lex, I could go on for ages singing his praises.

[identity profile] nehellania.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm trying to imagine you with curly hair. It's not working.

I have nothing useful to contribute here, alas.

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I originally thought the whole bringing-in-James Marsters-thing was a big casting stunt. (I loved him in Buffy--I'm not complaining or anything--but it seemed like a deliberate ploy to get Buffy fans to watch SV.) Now I wonder why I would ever object to such a thing? It's brought so many cool people into the fandom!

I'm so glad I friended you--your posts are always so much fun!

I was completely obsessed with Te for a long time. And Jenn. I've read all their stories multiple times. SO GOOD. God I love our fandom.

Yay, party!

1. Tell us something about yourself:

I have a final exam tomorrow morning, and yet I'm still here. I'm obsessed with fandom.

2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):

I love Lex. All things Lex. Lex is sex. Lex is hot. LEX! *g*

I occasionally like Clark, too, but mostly, it's all about Lex. Oh, and right now I read SV, HP, and SW, though I've been pretty heavily focused on SV lately.

3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :

Hmm. I don't really have any SV dislikes. Maybe Jonathan/Lex? That kind of squicks me. But everything else is fine -- oh, but I rarely read het.

4. What got you interested in Smallville?

The pilot episode. There was kissing!

5. What are your favorite SV episodes?

Hourglass, Shattered... the titles are eluding me, but I'll pretty much like all the Lex centric ones.

6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?

I don't. I read a story and then go on to the next one. *shrug*

7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

If I was a billionaire, I'd read and write slash all day long.

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, a story I haven't read! ::glomps::

I love your pets' names. And since I never got around to doing the weekend part of the feedbackathon myself, let me just say that your posts always brighten my day!

Re: Yay, party!

[identity profile] norwich36.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we should take up a collection to let you read and write slash all day long.

Good luck with your final!

I'm *sooooo* jealous that you met MR, but I'm glad you filmed it so we could share in the experience vicariously. (What kills me is that I lived in Indiana for 10 years. If I was still there, I could have gone too! Damn geography!)

[identity profile] acampbell.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! As your posts and comments do mine! I think it's really great that you've organized all these activities to keep us entertained during the summer hiatus, and you're getting great participation!

I hope you enjoy Roses's story. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's my absolute favorite SV fic. It offers so much in characterization, dynamics, intensity and emotion in such a short space! I'd love to be able to write and convey the Clex that way, and as effectively, someday.

[identity profile] blisstasteful.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm loving Jenn's stories too, when I first came across them I practically lost a weekend trying to get through them all! Really should make a list of all my fave ics somewhere, cos I always forget if I've read something or not (and generally I have but its blurred into the walth or other fics I read when I really should b doing something more productive)

[identity profile] goodnightsong.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Tell us something about yourself: Um. My name is Alicia. And I have no life?
2. Likes: Lex, Clark, Clex (OTP!), Lexana (just so you know, I REALLY like Lexana. Just a little warning for you there... heh) Michael Rosenbaum. Queer as Folk, Numb3rs. RENT.
3. Dislikes: Clana. Reality television.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? Michael Rosenbaum. Watched Sorority Boys, developed a teensy crush on MR, and had to check out the rest of his projects. But I stayed for the gayness of it all.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Lexmas, Lockdown, Shattered, Asylum, Red, Heat, Hourglass, and the list continues...
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? I can't think of any right now, except for "Superglue" by Kat Reitz and Perryvic, and The Corner of the World series.
7. Random facts: Um. I love Italian food. Oh, and when I was a little girl, I wanted to be a little boy. A gay little boy. Named Dean. I'm over that phase, but my family totally should've seen this obsession with gay men coming... *walks away*

[identity profile] talitha78.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You're being extremely sociable today, Becky. Tommy is proud of you. :D

I don't know why the IM thing irks me so much. The only thing that redeems it is if they put it behind an lj-cut. Then I don't have to look at it.

I think Vinny is a budding naturalist, with his bird-feeding ways. *nods*

1. Tell us something about yourself: Name's Clare, I'm a student teacher, I turn 23 at midnight tonight! (GMT) and I'm
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Clex! bring on the Clex porn! esp college fics and underage!Clark. I have a recently found LOVE (the caps are entirely necessary) of Michael Rosenbaum. Read a lot of HP fics too, pretty much anyone/Ron and Sirius/Remus. I loved Buffy for years, but kinda went off it in the last season or so. Films; fairly ecclectic genres, I adore Kevin Smiths brand of pop culture and dick and fart jokes (hell who needs to be mature all the damn time), indecently excited about the new Pirates of the Carribean film, and I've never quite shaken off my teenage dream of being</> Audrey Hepburn. Breakfast at Tiffanys is my comfort movie
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :<\b> I loath and despise Lex/Lionel, it makes me want to hide in a dark corner sobbing. Julia Roberts really gets my back up, I've no idea why I continue to torture myself by watching her films. I hate bad manners, and white trousers (there is just no need for either of them, none at all). Oh and fish, fish alive, in the sea or tanks, or dead and edible, they just freak me out, there is no rational explanation for this.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? pretty much down to [livejournal.com profile] toadstoolsmiles talking about it incessantly. One day it was on and I thought 'lets see what all the goddamn fuss is about'. Was almost instantly hooked. I still feel a little nervey posting and commenting as I'm way behind. Havn't seen that many eps, which happily is about to change as I've got practically all my family buying me the dvds for my birthday
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? well so far I have to say Red and Heat. I have a sort spot for Lexmas too (discounting smug preggers Lana and the whole Clark meets santa sillyness) cos Lex is just so cute and confused, and cries. I cry when Lex cries.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often? At the moment 'As the night the day' by Dana and Alax and 'Omiai'by rose_emily (Ilove a loooong fic)
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.) My nickname for years was 'shiny' cos I'm like a magpie, always attracted to sparkly things. I always name my plants then prompty kill them and my prize possesion is a raggy old 'lovealot' carebear teddy I've owned since I was 6 months old

Ah well, screw it

1. Tell us something about yourself:
Who am I? Well, I am me, Supercaptain182 or SC182, or the chick with a major jones/obsession/love/lust for Vin Diesel (shivers)
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
I don't like Smallville, I LOVE it. It's all about a Clex. Oh what a wonderful word! Other obsessions: Roswell, Lost, Prison Break, The Fast and The Furious, Supernatural, Veronica Mars and a non-existent fandom of Plata Quemada (Burnt Money). There are so many that I think I'll run out of space! *g* Let's not forget anything RPS Orlando Bloom related. Oh yet, lately I've started reading X-Files fic. Damn, that Krycek is only sexy rat bastard.
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
I hate Clana and Kate/Saywer.
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
I started reading Roswell slash and then one day, I found some SV slash and oh my god! Can we say life changing?! I came for the porn, but stayed for the pretty, the sexy and the destiny.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
The Pilot, Shattered, Asylum, and Onxy.
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
Hum? That's a hard one. I love Jenn's Sleep While I Drive, Herohunter's Every Once and A While, and Henry Jones Jr.'s Family, Friends and Love Universe. I have a huge soft spot for Clark and Whitney fics, so Caroline Baker's Schmoop is another favorite.
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)
The favorite food front: Let's put it this way, if I were trapped on a desert island with my favorite three foods, I'd have Cool Whip, a unlimited supply of sandwiches and Chicken Marsala (mainly for the mushrooms). I love blue and pink and black and pink when I'm trying to be sexy! Grrrr! *smiles and pets* Location wise: I'm from Miami, but live in New Orleans now for school. And I love the N.O.

Hee-Hee. Come on let's play.

Lexana 4eva!

(Oops, did I say that out loud? They might revoke my Clex card).

Did you read the really awesome Clexana piece that Arian just posted to SSA? It's called "Breathe," and it is here: http://smallville.slashdom.com/archive/46/breathe.html
