No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

1. Tell us something about yourself: I'm Suzycat, I live in New Zealand, I'm 41. Nearly 42 in fact. Gasp. I'm a journalist.
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Lex, Lex, Lex, Clark and Lex in that order. I ship Clex. I'm not really active in the fandom any more, but SV is my one and only and Clex my OTP, though I like Chlark, hetwise, on the show. I like Lex/Lionel (so long as it is sick, dirty and wrong, not lovey woo wah), nasty!fuckedup!Clex with wrong!sick!sex, and I secretly believe in MR/JG as an RPS pairing. Genrewise, I'm not hugely into your actual genre programming as a rule. I like The Sopranos (it's on telly right this second), Oz (LOVE), cheesy glitzy shows, dark moody shows, obscure 70s kids' shows that I grew up with, and heaps and heaps of other TV but not in an actively fannish way. RL stuff: I like coffee, cats, belly dancing, day dreaming, pretending to be an academic...
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff): Lana. I don't hate her, I just wish she would go away and find herself. I dislike Clana, tolerate Lexana as a clear example of displaced desire on the part of both parties (because it makes Lana vaguely interesting), and think Lois is all very well but she should NOT BE ON THE SHOW. Ooh! I powerfully dislike uke!Lex. Lex is a TOP. Genres I dislike: faux Celtic/mystykal crap. (I always watch, you understand, to spork.) Shows: I don't get the attraction of TAR. I think people fancying Jonathon Rhys Meyers is sick and wrong. I hate gum passionately.
4. What got you interested in Smallville? TWoP. I used to hang about there a lot in the early days of the show and RPed Lex for GOD about four centuries on the Anvil thread.
5. What are your favorite SV episodes? Pilot, Jitters, Craving (sue me), Shimmer, Heat, Lineage, Prodigal, Shattered, Memoria.
6. What SV story do you reread most often? Three Impossible Things.
7. Random facts: It's winter where I am. I am a slob. My cats are not named Clark and Lex but they *might as well be* for the way they act around each other.

I'm rereading Three Impossible Things at the moment! It's one of my favourite ever SV stories. SIGH.

I was going to put that, but I already put three under my list. That fic is frickin awesome

My plants are called Clark and Lex, but they don't really have any feelings towards each other. Because they are cacti and not really sentient.

Yes! Chunkier and also ridiculously pretty and not as clever (OR IS HE??) and with a higher voice a la S1 Clark. Dalba (that's his name)is also capable of freakish feats of strength. When he was a kitten he pushed the toaster off the fridge onto the floor, twice. *And* he routinely attacks his brother for no good reason.

Dubh is sleeker, a touch smaller, but a little older (they're littermates but he was born first), more vocal, has a deeper voice (cat-wise) and is constantly investigating things. When they were little he would follow his brother around in an obsessive manner.

When they're not beating each other up they are madly in love with each other.

AWWWW. that's so cute and true to life. You should rename them.

Actually, I just saw him quoted in a magazine as saying he has no time for celebs who whine and moan about getting photographed all the time, because dude, why else are they in the profession? Which I actually liked. Even if he *is* a psychic vampire, allegedly.

Hee. Well I know almost nothing about him as a person. He exists only as lust-object to me. I think it's the eyes/cheekbones combination. But the psychic vampire comment makes me want to find out more... who knows? I may end up hating him too!

Yes. Submissive frightened weak Lex I have also seen, and just... NO. He may be a doormat in many ways for the ones he loves, but he's still large and in charge.

Yes - frightened and weak if, say, hurt, I will accept. Submissive NO.

Clark on the other hand is just a big girl. Though he's getting a bit more dominant now.

I think we are in complete agreement on this.

Oh, wow, I really really wish someone would write MR/JG!

I think I saw some once, but it was along the lines of "oh, you want TW but you can't have him so you might as well do me, big gay actor that I am" which is not how I see it. I don't actually see TW/MR at all. But the idea of MR having a total actor!crush on JG - which you know he would have - and JG being like the teacher and everything, and his publically stated admiration for MR... it's so obvious to me.

Some years back JG said something in an interview that was along the lines of Michael not being willing to accept certain realities about himself and needing to be pressed into understanding them, and I *think* it was really meant to be a Lionel/Lex thing, but because both JG and MR talk about their characters as if they are themselves, and JG said "Michael" - well, there was a small fannish explosion and I think several people were killed from the gay just right there.

Lex, Lex, Lex, Clark and Lex in that order.

I feel exactly the same. I like Luthorcest, as long as one is being abusive with the other. I don't care who's the abusive one, though
