Come to the SV social

"I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party. The party with the...with the pants. The party with pants."
"Brick, are you saying there's a party in your pants and I'm invited?" (Anchorman)

No, actually the party is in the comments of this entry! Come and join the fun and meet new people in SV fandom. I would especially like to encourage you quiet folks lurking in the back--even those of you without livejournals of your own--to drop by and introduce yourselves. We're all a pretty friendly bunch here, and we like to make new friends. Fandom is more fun when you get involved and meet people, so why don't you stop by and say hi?

Here's a little mini-questionnaire, almost completely stolen from [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn's glee week social, in case you need a conversation starter, but feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you are interested in answering:

1. Tell us something about yourself:
2. Likes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff):
3. Dislikes (characters, ships, genres, TV shows, actors, real life stuff) :
4. What got you interested in Smallville?
5. What are your favorite SV episodes?
6. What SV fanfic do you reread most often?
7. Random facts (favorite food, color you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, pets' names, number of pairs of shoes you own, where you would live if you were a billionaire, etc.)

Happy delurking day! Come join the party!

That's awesome! I'm sure it will be wonderful. Viel Gluck! *pulls out my old high school german*

Yeah, I have no German at all. I can order a coffee, and that's it! I've signed up to take a course in September, which does me no good at all this summer ;)

Actually, I can also sing My Hat has Three Corners in German. Which is not very useful. I'm planning on doing a lot of pointing :D

How is it that *everyone* in the entire world knows how to sing that song? "Mein Hut es hat drei Ecken..." What is WITH that song?

Pointing is good. German's a pretty clear language, you'll probably find you pick up words pretty quickly. Kaffee and Kuche and Bier and Wein and so on are all pretty easy to get. And just say Danke a lot! ;) I'm sure you'll be fine!

It's such a fun song! Actually, I learned it when the German minister at my church was retiring - the choir sang it at his good bye party, complete with actions. I can't spell the words in German though, only phonetically. Mine hoot der hut drry ecken :D

Danke, that's a useful one. I can't figure out what Kuche is, though. Help me out?

*slurps coffee*

Perhaps it is Kuchen. I can't quite recall... anyway, it's cake. And though it doesn't sound like cake, they say it so damn often, you're bound to pick it up! and you'll hear 'Kaffee und Kuchen' = coffee and cake. These people have the right idea, yo!
